Re: I HATE MAYONNAISE!
I like most sauces, but tarter and cocktail are on a whole different level of gross.
I slung a sauce pump across the kitchen at a woman one time because she put it in my clean dish water, half full of cocktail sauce.
Three years cooking seafood was just too muchComment

I can't believe this thread is approaching 500 posts.
And since cocktail sauce has entered the discussion, Here's a story. During my senior year of high school I was making some Ravioli and went to get leftover spaghetti sauce to put on it. Well, this was right after the holidays and along with the spaghetti sauce, there was a tupperware container of cocktail sauce in the fridge for the cold shrimp we had out for when family was over. Now, note that my sense of smell is virtually nonexistant so I had to guess which was which (my mom wasn't home to ask). Well, I guessed wrong and ended up putting cocktail sauce on my ravioli. Didn't taste great, but I ate it anyway.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Why not just taste a dab before pouring it on your pasta?I can't believe this thread is approaching 500 posts.

Re: I HATE MAYONNAISE!
We've been over this. A1 doesn't go on a steak to mask or improve the taste. A1 goes on a steak b/c A1 is fantastic.Ah, I can't stand when people go to an expensive steakhouse and get their steak well done. You cook away ALL the flavor and tenderness! Then they have to smother it in A-1 because its so tough. A medium or mid-rare steak shouldn't need A-1 (unless its just a bad cut if meat).

So are cheerleaders @ games. But the addition of them make it much better.
Best comparison I had this morning.EXPERIENCE MAYHEM FOOTBALLComment

Steak sauce is like cheerleaders that do their routine right in front of you and you miss the big play. Just brings the real reason you are there down a few notches.Comment

Re: I HATE MAYONNAISE!
I cooked a few awesome, thick beer ribeyes a few weeks ago. I still put a little Heinz 57 on the side of my plate. These steaks had a ridiculously good taste with no sauce.
I didn't use much, but I like the occasional piece dipped in the sauce because I love the taste so much.Last edited by AUChase; 07-29-2013, 12:27 PM.Comment

Re: I HATE MAYONNAISE!
I really don't like using "dipping" sauces for my steak. When I was a kid ranch was used, but now I pretty much eat it how it comes off the grill. If there's BBQ sauce cooked on it I might use some more of the same to increase the flavor, but honestly a medium/medium-well done steak doesn't need much.
Also, pimento cheese spread. Without mayo that glorious sammich spread is worthless. Pimento cheese with a thick slice of tomato on toast. Summer sammich goodness.
