Re: I Need OS Right Now
Yes it does. Since my daughter passed the times that I am alone and quiet are the hardest times to get thru. I can't stress enough to find someone to talk to. Whether it is us on OS or somebody professional it helps. Go easy on yourself to. Grieving is different for everybody and whatever way you handle it is the right way. Also remember that there is no time limit on this. There will be good days full of good thoughts and memories and bad days full of tears and darkness. Let yourself have both.
Loosing a loved one is the hardest thing that you will have to go thru. We are here for you and if you would like to talk or whatever just give me a yell. I wish you peace and strength.

Stay strong Dog. My father died when I was 3rd grade and my mother died when I was in 5th grade so I know what you are going through. Lean on your family and friends and they will help you get through this.Comment

I'm using Far Cry 3 as my escape.
I slipped a little and started feeling depressed and withdrawn from the world 2 days ago, but luckily I forced myself to get out of the house with my girlfriend.

Good on ya, Jnes. Everyone grieves in their own way, and at their own pace. Just know it is okay to have days where you need to take some time, too.GO 'HAWKS!

Sorry to hear about your loss. Like somebody else said, everyone handles grief differently.

Funerals are tough man. I've been to my fair share. It's your time to let it all out though. If she's eulogized properly, you will be able to find some comfort in it. Re: I Need OS Right Now
I know it's well past the funeral now but I hope you let it all out my friend. I used to think I was stoic and could handle any funeral. I actually could as I was usually the strong one, never cried or anything but when my uncle Compton died and I was doing a speech I couldn't even finish and started crying right there in front of everyone. That was the first time I really bawled at a funeral. I'm getting a little emotional thinking about it right now.
So yeah, it can be VERY tough to go through one but it can also be cathartic as it's more than okay to let all your feelings come to the surface and say good bye one last time to the surface.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: I Need OS Right Now
Wow at the responses in this thread. I feel almost ashamed that I'm just seeing this. My condolences and thoughts go out to you man. I must say you have a pretty strong support system here and I'm glad that it's helped you a bit during these hard times you're going through.
I wish I had taken the time here to communicate when I lost my father and grandmother in late 2011 (they passed away a month and a half apart from each other during the holidays), but thankfully I had alot of friends and family to help get through all that as I couldn't imagine going through that alone. And yes like you said it can become very depressing at times when it's quiet.
But also try to keep in mind that, even tho it may be hard to now, that it's experiences like these that can somewhat shape how a person matures and grows through time. I can say I'm a much different person now and feel a greater sense of responsibility and maturity as a result. And judging by your responses to everyone throughout this thread I have a feeling you'll come out the same way.
As others here have said, stay strong and God Bless. The Signature of New YorkComment
