I don' t get why so many people hate talking on the phone. Before cell phones were popular, that was how you found out what was going on with your friends or how you set up times to meet with your friends.

Its so much easier to talk a conversation then to text it. SMH

As I have gotten older and grouchy, I don't like any of the phone options...except for talking with my parents.

My top choice for communication is email (and message boards lol).

I never liked talking on the phone. Even before texting. You're basically tied down because you can't really do anything else, if it's late you can't talk loud enough, propensity for conversations to take too long (especially with a girlfriend), etc. Texting/online chatting is more low-key, casual and you can send links and videos about whatever you're talking about.

I'm not saying talk all night. maybe less than 20 mins. You could say much more in 20 minutes than you can in 20 texts. texting back and forth instantly wears out my fingers lol

I don't find talking on the phone worth it unless you're talking to your best friend (and/or Significant Other or arbitrary phone call to Moms) and you're really bouncing ideas and stuff off of each other. But at that point, I'd rather talk face to face if you get what I'm saying?

Nothing beats personal face to face interaction.

for those of you that don't talk on the phone, do you tell your friends that you aren't a phone talker so they dont call you or do you just ignore their calls? the latter seems rude, but most of the friends I've had preferred this method of dealing with me if i called...

Yeah. I've told everyone I'm close with I don't like talking on the phone. They don't call.

Nobody calls me, save for my parents. I like it that way, everyone knows (and has known for my entire life) that I hate talking on the phone. Waste of both our time.

Texting for me is easier. If I'm working on something, occasionally having to read/write a text is much faster than me trying to talk on the phone and work still. We have headsets, but saying one thing and writing another thing doesn't always work out well.

I text everyone and the only people I actually call and talk to are my mom, dad, brother, girlfriend, and best friend. A girl I've known for 4 years, we've never once talked on the phone, text a few times a week. We've either texted or talked in person only. At this point, we just don't ever call because it's gone on so long, why ruin a nice streak.

I text mostly and only really talk on the phone if it's related to the Navy, parents, or two best friends.

I'm a don't text me or call me unless you have a purpose, type of person. Get to the point, time is money. I inherited that trait from my parents. And after 9pm, don't even bother unless you dying because I won't answer.

Wait, if you tell them to not call unless they're dying, but you're not gonna answer anyway... why would you tell them to call? Seems like a waste of that person's final moments.

And time is only money if you're on the clock... and if that's the case, you shouldn't be answering personal phone calls of any kind.

Annoying when people leave a message similar to "Just wanted to say hi" or something like that. I know I missed your call. Don't leave a message unless it's actually useful.

I don't care one iota about Banksy at all. Or that he's in NY (or somewhere in the US)....

I also don't get why we laud his graffiti vandalism as "art" yet bemoan every other type of graffiti.
