If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I do think 4K will take much longer to adopt than 1080p did.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I disagree. 1080p standards were set in 1996. 1996. 4k standards were adopted in 2012 and sets are already available and affordable. I'd wager in three years, there won't be any such thing as a high end 1080p set, they just won't be financially feasible in the market against 4k sets.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
What is "affordable."
To a lot of people, especially in this extended grand recession, $200 is an affordable TV.

I'd agree with you that we're moving to 4k, just not sure it'll go down in 3 years. My skepticism is more in the ability (or lack thereof) to deliver consistent 4k programming over cable.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
A top of the line 1080p TV is typically about a grand less than it's 4k equivalent, not exactly a huge premium on an already pricey TV. Some the difference is even less, top of the line Samsung 55" 1080p is only $100 less than the 4k 55".Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Yeah, but there's people that think everyone has that kind of money to throw around. To some, spending a couple grand on a TV isn't much. Me spending $500 on a TV could cost me my car.--

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Not to mention that for plenty of people I'm sure 1080p will be good enough.
The difference between SD and HD was way, way, way, way more jarring than the difference between 1080p and 4k.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I know this has been said countless times throughout history, but I just don't see how it can get much better.
I mean, 1080p on a high end TV, I just don't see how much sharper it can really get.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: Uncommon Opinions
1) I don't care about how much money pro athletes make. In my opinion, they had to work extremely hard to get to where they are. Besides, pay is often performance based (or at least player quality based so it gives players the incentive to be good at their sport).
2) Football is amazing, Basketball is average but with some excitement at times, I don't know how good volleyball is, same goes with Track. All other sports bore me to tears though, even swimming and baseball.
3) Miranda Cosgrove is one of the best pop music artists in the history of the world and is very talented.
4) Miranda Cosgrove is a great actress and is my favorite actress (and favorite actor/actress) of all time.
5) Listening to music on the radio bores me but I love talk radio.
6) All the zombie, horror, and alien TV shows/movies are pointless and boring.
7) Chick-fil-a is the best fast food restaurant in the history of the earth.
8) Olive Garden is the best sit-down non-country restaurant chain that I know of. I cannot think of any restaurant in that category that I would like better than Olive Garden.
9) Cracker Barrel is the best country restuarant chain out there. The atmosphere is relaxing and the food is good.
10) Driving is overrated and just another chore.
11) I like it better when people are displaced fans instead of local fans (as in sports teams).
12) I happily welcome bandwagon fans onto my favorite teams' fanbase as they make it to where I don't feel lonely as a fan of said team, the team becomes more popular, and it will suddenly be fashionable to like said team; therefore, I don't have to deal with people giving me a hard time over which sports teams I like (you can see by my signature how my favorite teams are scattered all over. I do not have favorite sports cities). Also, bandwagon fans can become permanent fans; I stuck with the Yankees this year despite their struggles (I have been a fan of the Yankees since childhood despite not having any ties to NYC).
13) Everyone is a bandwagon fan at first; just like everyone is born a baby.
14) I hate the draft lottery system, I like the NFL draft system best.
15) Fantasy sports has not that much appeal to me. I am in a friend of mine's league and I do it for fun even though I try my best to win; I don't get angry over losing as I spend like 15-20 minutes per week on fantasy football when I am in a league. I don't obsess over it as it's a little thing in my life.
16) Coffee tastes horrible, I prefer hot chocolate or ice cold water instead.
17) Friendships and people you are emotionally close to can change your life; even your favorite sports teams if you bond that close to them. That happened to me once but even though that friendship is over, I'm still a fan of that person's favorite team without regrets
18) Reading is fun and interesting. It will unlock a whole world of knowledge if you read with the right mindset and attitude.
19) I love cats. My cat (she will be 6 on Valentine's Day) is like my daughter to me.
20) Spongebob is the best animated show of all time. It is therapeutic, relaxing, and is easy watching as well as hilarious at times.
21) Personality Psychology is something that everyone can benefit from (the DISC personality test and the MBTI personality test are my favorites and the best ones out there).
22) Out of the major airline carriers (excluding JetBlue, Southwest, etc.), Delta Airlines is the best major airline in the country.
23) Death Valley (Clemson) is the best stadium in all of sports as in terms of fan atmosphere and surrounding areas.
24) Clemson football is the best team to be a fan of due to the whole package (fans, coaches, location, colors, uniqueness, etc.)
25) LeBron James was perfectly ethical in his decision to go to the Miami Heat. He took less money to play for the Heat- that's a team player right there.
26) The New York Yankees are awesome.
27) Classical Music is awesome, especially ones with violins and/or cellos in them.
28) Arena Football is fun to watch.
29) I like it better in 60s-70s temperatures than in the 80s+.
30) Processed foods taste better than homemade foods.
31) Pens are an awful invention; pencils are better.
More to come later.

I think this year's halftime show was the best to date.
