I don't see how they should do anything, it's up to the student athlete to make those decisions that are best for them.

The prospect of money and fame will make that decision for them. And the ones that would make that decision would be the ones who need to stay in school.

Why? The vast majority of people go to college because they need a degree to get a good job and/or need to learn more to be able to get into the field they want. Football players who leave for the draft aren't doing anything different than just about any other student would if offered a chance to get their dream job before graduating college.

If I was offered a guaranteed 6 figure job if not more when I was in college I would leave in a heartbeat.

On requiring athletes to stay... how about instead, you require those that do make it into the pros to make donations to the scholarship fund once they get that ridiculous contract. Would fund some of the future players since they are basically handouts. May not mean much for the big schools, but could help some smaller schools. See Flacco and Delaware.

Now, I'm sure many of them do this any way, but you never know.

Again, do you guys with these ridiculous expectations/wishes for athletes want the same requirements put on regular students? Oh and by the way, football programs bring ridiculous amounts of money to their school's athletic programs with players whose scholarships don't come close to what coaches and administrators make. The players are already sacrificing their potential livelihoods for at least 3 years to make other people rich, so why would you require them to give back more just because they may make a lot of money?

Its not about money. Its about maturity. If a guy can handle all the money and fame, good for him. But many cannot. Vince Young and Contacts Russell both came or as juniors and they lacked the maturity to have a successful career. Would staying another year helped? Maybe.

If they aren't mature after 3 years of college, then one extra year isn't going to change anything.

-Everyone in Young Money (except for Drake sometimes) is utter garbage

-The NFL draft and draft scouting is better than the NFL season

-I love to follow recruiting (and yes I watched the entire 10 hour signing day special)
