Re: Uncommon Opinions
See, again, I looked at the George video, and didn't cringe or whatever. I did say "ouch" though.
HOWEVER, I can't watch surgery videos. Those do make me queasy.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
OS sure loves the term douche. I encounter the term more times here in a week than I do in a calendar real world year.
Health class made me weak. Just talking about what's happening inside the human body makes me uneasy. Video is something I avoid at all cost. Won't even begin to describe the horror that was my daughter's birth. Men do not belong in a delivery room.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Now I know these vids we're discussing here are from publicly broadcasted events....
But now there is always someone taking video of some pretty horrific events...gruesome car accidents....at fires...sometimes graphic things of people who are already suffering.
Then it's posted for everyone to see.
I swear...I'd love to grab every one of those phones and throw them under the rig and drive over them.
(oh....this should go it the "grind's gear's thread!)

Re: Uncommon Opinions
You can be interested in it all you like. No need to go all internet reporter "I must post this for all the world to see!" mode with it.
Btw I dont just mean these sports injuries. There are worse way worse videos people post on timelines that have no business being there. You cant blame "interest" with those douchbags.
My feelings are on the sports things. It's newsworthy. Words will never be the best medium for that and generally if something isn't shared it won't be found. Regardless of how much we hate seeing someone go through something like that, when it's a top athlete, you really can't expect ESPN not to show replays or people not to Vine/record those replays for internet use. Video and photo are more powerful mediums than words. To expect people not to use those, when most scroll through half the words that are posted anywhere, just isn't going to happen.
Cavsfan, I know you said words work just as well, but online that just isn't true. It sucks that it does affect you and others, but it's the way most people get their news these days. It's not just because they are purposefully not being courteous to individuals such as yourself.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I guess I see your point. I'm just really sensitive about that stuff.
For example Eric Legrand came to my high school to talk about what he's gone through. I swear when he talked about the moment of impact my whole skin got clammy, I started sweating and got nausea and my vision got all blurry. It was in the middle of an assembly too.so I couldn't get up. Ughh I'm so squeamish lolComment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I get nauseous thinking about and taking blood tests and internal mechanisms and all that but I have no real problem watching videos of sports injuries and such.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I'm the exact opposite, I actually enjoy blood tests and donating blood. I watch the needle go in, and sometimes they let you pump blood yourself with a little handheld thing, which is really cool. But gross injury videos and gruesome **** in general, no thanks. I can watch it in a movie and it's cool, but not real life.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
The only thing I can't do is broken bones. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's because I had a compound fracture my leg when I was a kid.--

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I enjoy watching Little League World Series games. The drama in a close game is tenser and better television than anything the College World Series has to offer.Comment
