Re: Uncommon Opinions
I'll be the one that sticks up for the little guys. The small breeds were always the "alert dogs" in packs, it's their job to bark their heads off to let everyone know something is up. My dog is a shih tzu and he's ****ing awesome. I didn't want him in the house when my old roommate adopted him from her grandma (who had just adopted him after his elderly owners died), I was "big dog or bust" guy.
After spending time with him, I realized he just needed love & discipline like all other dogs, and it was pretty fun playing toys with him. When the roommate moved to NYC I willingly adopted him as my own and he's been an amazing companion ever since.
Any dog can be great under good care and guidance.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Uncommon Opinions
And this is a typical opinion of someone who has spent zero time around pitbulls. There's a difference between an "uncommon opinion" and an "uninformed" opinion. Yours is the latter

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I live with a pitbull. It hates my guts for no reason. That is where my opinion comes from. There's a reason why this thread is called uncommon opinions right?
And to give perspective on my dog hate I used to be chased every day getting off the bus by my neighbors dog. And I always have loved cats.Comment

One pitbull = all pitbulls? Good logic.
Disliking dogs is an uncommon opinion. Claiming that pitbulls are blood thirsty killers is an uninformed opinion.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
As someone who has a pitbull and three smaller dogs (They're supposed to be chiweenie's, however they all weigh between 20-30 pounds and since my wife got one from a stranger at the Dollar Store and the other two came from the pound, then I don't know that they are chiweenies for sure. Not that it matters either way) I can say that the pitbull has a better temperament that the small dogs though.
The three small are always growling and fighting with one another and two of the three basically bully the pitbull because he's old and sick. I've read that dogs can sense that sort of thing and once the previous pack leader gets older they start doing that to establish dominance or something. I kind of wish the the pit was 2-3 years younger and could just sling them around one good time to teach them not to be ***holes, but he doesn't have it in him anymore.
In the past I would have said that I prefer bigger dogs, but since getting the two chiweenies last year my opinion has changed. One of them has the the best personalities that I've ever seen in a dog and I wouldn't trade him for anything. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Smart dog(s)!!!
I'll take a dog over a human 9 days a week with some exceptions of course.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Well, the only thing I would trade him for is the same version of him, but could live in human years instead of dog years.
I'm 34 and my wife is 32, we have 4 dogs and 0 children (purposefully), so I would have to agree. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Dude it's not like this is the first pit I've encountered. My life experience w them is obviously different from yours. There are some pits that have attacked and killed people. Is that the majority? No. But I'd prefer not to deal w any of them due to that.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Nickie started off by laughing at the 3000 feet of fence I put up(5 feet high)...repeatedly stealing small(5-6 ft) potted trees fom my neighbor .....dragging them back to my house and gnawing on them(figuring out the electric eye lets her in the gate)....then catching a goose....fox.....and....friggin'...HAWK respectively .(not on the same day obviously )...(I managed to get her to let go of each of them.....although I had to grab the hawk as it had latched on to her...she had it right by the head and neck)
....wait .....I'm starting to rethink this dog thing!!!

Re: Uncommon Opinions
For real, could've just said you don't like them. You generalized something and made a ridiculous generalization because of your own unfortunate experience(s).
