Re: Uncommon Opinions
For anyone to generalize pitbulls as vicious killers because of what the news says is someone that isn't well informed. I have friends that own Pitbull rescues. I've done tons of research. They aren't all bad. Yes, pitbulls have attacked people. So have Labradors, miniature schnauzers, Dalmatians, etc. but they aren't considered vicious killers.
If you research it, one of the meanest type of dogs is a Dalmatian. But because of Disney everyone thinks they are all great dogs.
If Disney made 101 Pitbulls we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
A miniature schnauzer or lab isn't a pure chunk of muscle though. I imagine there is a reason people fight pit bulls and not just any other large dog. 95% of it is just bad training by the owner. Pit Bulls are likely a lot more common than dalmatians are too. So the attacks occur more often. Plus pit bulls don't help put out fires.......Comment

I didn't know Dalmatians were dangerous. We used to have one and it was the nicest dog. The dog would lick you to death.MLB: Texas Rangers

Re: Uncommon Opinions
The meanest dog I ever met was a miniature schnauzer. It bit all of us. And we were good to it. I have a half bulldog half Pitbull and he's the best. Very loyal and a big baby.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
College really is that first taste of independence. I guess a better way of saying it is that it was the best if times (meeting new people, making new friends, etc.) And worst of times (schoolwork, papers out the ***, stress factors )Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Don't get me wrong I'm definitely enjoying being on my own and building my life/career. But there's a reason why 40 y.o. guys get together w college buddies and party it up every once in awhile.

Every time I hear somebody beyond the age of 30 say that college or high school was the best time in their life, I instantly think of Al Bundy.Comment

Forget you man !!!!!!!
I always wanted a power wheel but my parents couldn't afford it. So instead I was stuck with these:
I literally use to scoot around in that red wagon all day long until one day a crack head pushed me off and stole it from me when I was outside. But man I sooooooooooo wanted a power wheel.Comment

Nothing wrong with a Big Wheel. Had to take the backrest off to be cool, though.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I was never one into the party scene anyway so that aspect of "college life" never appealed to me. I drink and have fun and I haven't stopped simply because I graduated college. Those other things you list still happen for me and looking back the stress of school is inflated to a degree compared to real independent living.
But just like everything in life you remember all the good times and block out all the bad ones, that's what the nostalgia factor of remembering college comes in at.
**** it, I loved living in a dorm. My freshman year alone was like 3-4 years worth of life experience, and I wouldn't be the same person that I am today had I not had those experiences.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I don't think I'll ever have as much fun as I did in college. But that's a good thing, because I'd probably be dead by 35 if I continued to have as much fun as I did in college, lol.
However, 6 months so far in the "real world" has been much more rewarding than almost any of my time in college. And it's awesome to actually have money, haha.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Well, I'm truly independent which is not something I could say 5 years ago. I enjoy my job and business acquaintances. Networking still gets me out interacting with new, interesting people every week. Like I said I was never a big party person, but I probably drink and get buzzed on a more regular basis than I ever did in college.
So, I don't really see the need to make a distinction between fun and rewarding because I experience both routinely. My main point is to never really look back and linger on any specific time in my life as "the best years ever." I'm having fun in the present while planning for the future so I can keep having and evolving the best years of my life. I've thought this way since freshman orientation in high school when the Student President said high school is the best 4 years of your life.
I guess I'm Randal from Dazed and Confused.
