Ehh, it depends what aspect of coaching you're talking about.

If it's player development, I'd give the edge to Pop. And they both have been successful while having to coach some of the greatest players to ever play the game(Jordan, Duncan, O'Neal, Kobe). It'd be a tough case to say Pop was a better coach than Phil and that's even without taking rings into consideration.

Per request, I won't drag this out, lol. I guess what I was saying was, Pops just seems to win. Maybe not rings, but, seemingly every year, the Spurs cruise right into the playoffs. They came within a stop of winning yet another title last year. And, they've just won a franchise record 18th straight game tonight. All "under the radar", with "slow, old" players.

Phil and the triangle worked in Chicago and LA. I think Pops is a better "x's and o's" coach, in my opinion of course. And with that:

I honestly think the MLB one is the worst. Not because of idiocy, but the opposite - know it alls all over the place. It's hard to read some of the **** in the there.

Might just be me, though. Just seems like you can't have an opinion in there unless you bring 47 different statistics to back up.

By and large, that's my problem with the sport. It feels solved. There's no opinion left, it's all black and white.

You could work on catcher affects on pitching/defense. There are some good stats out there, but definitely room for more.

Honestly, during the actual seasons neither Off Topic thread (NFL and NBA for me) are too bad. Its the off-season drought that brings out the overly dramatic discussions.

This is happening in the NFL forum too. Mind numbingly frustrating.


The NBA forum is different than others, but also the most entertaining to me. It is a mess, but it's a fun mess.

NBA OT feels like people just sitting around the breakroom jawing - nothing too serious, mostly fun and collected, but can have its dramatic flair ups and serious discussions

Cici's takeout pizzas are better than Pizza Hut or Domino's.

At least at my Cici's which is a takeout place only the pizzas they pop out aren't the crappy, no topping kind like you get from their buffets. The cinnamon rolls are better than any desert you get at any chain pizza place.

My uncommon opinion: the **** the NBA forum gets is way overblown. The NFL AND MLB forums aren't as innocent as you guys say they are. Most of the people that whine about the NBA forum don't even like the sport. Well, naturally, you're not going to enjoy discussion about the sport.

NBA forum is actually my favorite these days. Yea, people might rehash the same dopy arguments over and over again, but that's part of its charm, lol. But there's a lot of guys in there who know the sport, and watch all the teams.

I forgot about Meyers. Letterman's retiring next year, and people think Stephen Colbert might be his replacement. Then the choice will be tougher.
