I like the NBA rule because it gives the offense a more realistic shot and, more importantly, forces the opposing team to have to really buckle down on D.
What I never get is why you don't see college teams advancing it to half court and calling a timeout. They get to half court and throw up a sprinting prayer with 2 seconds remaining. Surely you can tell the ref your intentions so that they know to be on the look out for a timeout call.

North Carolina tried it but the guy only had 1.6 seconds to advance the ball in the first place. In that situation you should know you obviously won't be able to pull it off.

          Re: Uncommon Opinions

I would almost always rather watch a sporting event from the comfort of my (or a friend's) home than actually attending the sporting event.

When I was in college I went to all the Minnesota hockey and football games because it was convenient: cheap tickets, walking distance to the stadium/arena, etc.

But now, not having to buy a ticket and sitting on the couch drinking some beers and BSing with friends is 100x more appealing to me than going to the sporting event live.

If I got free tickets to something I would definitely go, but I'm not going to go out of my way to go to a game (except for a baseball game or two a year, now that the Twins play outdoors)

Football games I will never go to again. The living room experience is so much better.

Basketball and Hockey have great fan experiences. I'll go to 1 or 2 regular season games, but the real bread and butter is going to playoff games. You can not beat the atmosphere at the arena.

Baseball I just buy cheap tickets on nice days to kick back and relax for the day. Game is secondary.

Baseball is great to watch live, especially if you can find tickets for cheap. I almost enjoy minor league games more than major league ones (almost). It's great to just kind of kick back and take in a ball game.

I just went to the Caps-Bruins game Saturday, and even my girlfriend commented how much better it was being at the game than watching on tv.

I agree on baseball too. Cheap tickets on a beautiful day, especially at Camden Yards, so awesome.

But as for an actual uncommon opinion, I like the smell of mulch. I also like the smell of skunks, or things that smell like skunks, whatever they may be, definitely probably not illegal though.

I suppose it comes down to what you want to get out of a sporting event. Actually going to the game is usually my chance to have some drinks and catch up with friends.

To add on that, I hated Jackie puppet.

I thought Artie was hilarious, although many loyal Stern fans would say Jackie was the head skit writer and without him, it was never the same.

Very true. Jackie was definitely a major cog in the bits.

GTA: Vice City is the best out of the franchise. Also has the best soundtrack for any video game in history.

Not many would argue with you on that. I love Vice City.
