I said this in another thread but I really wish that I liked baseball cause minor league clubs seem to have a lot of fun and do whatever they can to make the gameday experience really nice for the fans. I remember when I was little and went to Zephyrs games and it was fun every time.

Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -
Re: Uncommon Opinions
I know some of my baseball fan friends make it out to Las Vegas 51s games. (Triple A affiliate of the Mets).
They tell me it's not a bad venture. Cheap and you get to see future stars (and sometimes current ones when they're rehabbing or whatever).Comment

Battle, that's another thing I mentioned I love watching young talent before they make it to the majors.
Not an Orioles fan but I don't have any other local Minor League teams with 20 minutes like I do the Frederick Keys.Texas A&M Aggies

It would suck to be that player. Strike out and hear an extra vociferous roar from the crowd.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Cubs single A affiliate is an hour away. I went on autograph day. It was a good day for my baseball cardsComment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
It really is. So much more availability for the player interaction. Also the Keys usually have a few WWE wrestlers every season for autographs. Last year they had Hacksaw Jim Duggan.Texas A&M Aggies

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Yeah I'm with you on that. It definitely is cool to follow the players locally and then see them make it to the bigs. I'm no Mets fan but anytime I can make it to the park for a game I love it.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
When I lived in Akron the Aeros stadium was like 7 minutes away. They are double A for the Indians which I'm sure most of you knew. The games were a blast. They had dollar dog and dollar pop nights. Players would talk to you and sign for you. Very intimate setting.
I used to love steak. It was my favorite food. But for some reason I'm not really liking it as much. I think I've just been getting some bad steaks lately.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
One of my favorite things to do back home is go watch the Barons play. Southern League champa last year and fun to watch. They actually play in a brand new park at Region's field. It's a cool venue, food and drinks are affordable, etc. They are a big part of the effort to remake the image of downtown Birmingham. Region's Park is just a few minutes from the Lakeview District, 5 Points South, etc.
If anyone is ever in the area for a random reason (not that anyone ever will be )let me know. I'm a great travel guide even though I'm not home.. lol.
Speaking of baseball, I'll be signing autographs at the White Sox opener this year. I'm part of the color detail rolling out the flag during pre game.Last edited by AUChase; 03-21-2014, 08:55 AM.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Never been to a minor league game actually. Closest team to me is about an hour away so I've never really gone. If I lived closer I might go to a couple but I'm not sure how interested I am in MiLB. Baseball's baseball I suppose.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I always come up with an excuse as to why I don't go to the games here in town (I'm fortunate enough to live in town where the team is and it's a 5-10 minute drive), but in reality, I'm just lazy.--
