Probably because it aired on HBO more than anything (if it was on FOX,CBS or something, I'd probably have tuned in), but I still haven't bothered trying to get into the show.

Now with it being in final season, everyones talking about it more than ever, and I still have 0 idea what anything they're saying means.

I think GOT might be one of the most popular shows that I've never seen.
The availability of a show is one thing, but the stripped down PG version of a show like GoT wouldn't be worth it, if you had to endure the CBS version of the show it probably would've been canceled after year 1.

I'm sure most shows I watch are ones people don't watch (despite fairly popular followings for most part), and some shows people probably don't realize it's still on lol.

I watch shows because I like it, not because it's popular/is what others are talking about.
Yeah too bad The Office and Modern Family were on HBO

Yeah. I prefer Prime video by a mile. Better selection of old and new movies and TV shows.

Plus Netflix's idea of independent movies is bad direct-to-video action films and Adam Sandler movies. Cringe. You can find better stuff on YouTube.

I find that so many people watch what's on Netflix just because it's on Netflix, and they miss out on a ton of other great stuff out there as a result. Just because there's a full season of Show X on Netflix doesn't mean you need to spend 10 hours of your life watching it.

I feel like you don't quite understand what he means by "original" Netflix content.

You're post is a valid one, with legitimate points, but I don't think it was what he was referring to.

Prime Video has better content but their UI is so damn clunky. If you don't know exactly what you want to watch, browsing is a hassle.

Netflix and "binging" in general is one of the worst things to happen to television.

I don't have Netflix, Hulu, or any other of those things.

                I have tv/satellite tv..that's it.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I used to love it when as a kid even, my teacher would have us binge watch Magic School Bus. I don't care if she was being lazy or not, that was some high quality TV man.

We used to "binge watch" TV shows in school too. Not because of Netflix, but because the school had basically every Bill Nye tape ever made.

I do wonder though what school movies are like nowadays with Netflix and digital downloads. Teachers could play whatever they want(that's PG) without needing school buying anything.

                          Re: Uncommon Opinions

I'm not sure all of these fit, but here goes! Crazy jetlag has me up too early, so hopefully this is coherent:

Don't use credit, not even to buy a car. If you don't have the cash for it, you cannot afford it. Real estate you live in being the one exception. This one rule has allowed me to live very happily and comfortably.

I've never seen a single comic book movie. Not even Batman or Iron Man. I've never seen Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones. Zero interest. I'd honestly rather work or do things around the house (I love my work though).

"California is too expensive" is something I constantly hear, yet literally no one who tells me this seems to understand that you make about twice as much on your investment (4% vs 9%) than just about anywhere else in the country.

There's a direct correlation between (lack of) intelligence and how loud your car is.

American society has let modern parenting get out. of. control. Thanks, Good Morning America.

Girls don't want your d#$% pic.

Someone is going to have a hard time financing a house with zero credit to their name just because they were scared of owning a credit card.

I don't care about or follow politics in any way. I also don't watch the news (national or local). Anything of note seems to get told to me by wife, friends, or when at work.

I ran in to this problem recently and you’re 100% right. Here’s my story:

I just turned 29. Only did two semesters of college. Have owned all cars I’ve driven (never had a car payment). Never had a credit card. So my debt was minimal, few hundred left to pay back, and my credit was non-existent.

Recently applied for an apartment. Got denied. Score is too low, even though my income more then covered rent/utilities. I simply did not have a credit history, and NONE = BAD in that world. It was extremely annoying, you would think being almost 30 with no debt would be a good reason to GIVE someone a chance, but I see why that’s a bad idea too.

I got a credit card (barely, it was the only one outside of a secured card — that seemed messed up) and took out a loan to finance a medical expense. My score shot up 120 points. I applied to a different complex for a townhouse and was instantly accepted.

Gotta play the game to be in the game.

I don’t think Mike’s advice is totally off. You SHOULD NOT use credit you can’t afford. The interest will bury you in quick order. But you do have to give in a little.
