I would never spend $60, at least in my right mind, on a steak. I normally spend around $10-$20 for a steak and, no, I still wouldn't come within 10 feet of it with ranch or anything else unless I cooked it very poorly and that was the only way to salvage a meal. A properly cooked $10 steak will taste like it cost $60, no steak sauce needed.

I would never, ever, spend that much on a steak. Seems pointless to spend $100 + on a meal...

Most I've ever spent on a meal for myself was $40 and it included clam chowder, steamed clams, spinach, and a lobster.

Checked the menu and you also got a potato and dessert. Helluva meal for around $40.

Only seafood I like is shrimp. Lobster, crabs, clams, etc all taste nasty to me.

It is more of a status symbol then anything else. The food sure as hell don't taste better, it just looks prettier because they decorate it like a hooker.

Between my wife and I, we spent $108 for a meal over the weekend mainly because I lost my mind and ate 10lbs. of crawfish @ $7/lb. I'll be boiling them myself from now on.

As far as ranch goes, i love dipping pizza in it and i could probably put it on a number of things.

If you wanna pay a lot for an excellent meal, Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian steak house that is very pricey, but they treat you like a king and bring around the all the best cuts of meat a carnivore could want. you get this drink-coaster-looking thing that is red on one side and green on the other, if you just keep it on the green the waiters will continue to walk up to your table non-stop with a variety of meats. also has a salad/sides bar.

love all seafood. Maryland crabs and crab cakes are the best.

Sounds exactly like Texas de Brazil with a different name and it isn't even that expensive for all you can eat. I think ~$50 a plate (or was the last time I went) and for getting to try several different meats, that's a steal.

I'm not sure what restaurant you went to where that happened but one of the few places I've gone where I spent a bunch of money had some of the best-tasting food I've ever eaten.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I've had an expensive steak once in Vegas while with a bunch of friends. It was good, but not that much better than what I can buy and grill at home IMO.

I'd rather get some good filets or whatnot and throw them on my grill....

Not a status thing at all. I'm not exactly rolling in the dough here. BUT,You can DEFINITELY taste a difference in a steak from, say, Outback Steakhouse, and a steak from Ruth's Chris or any other dedicated steakhouse. Not even close.

Yea, I've always heard you could taste the difference in steak when it comes to $$$.

I just can't see myself ever paying $150 + for a meal no matter how good it tastes.
