    Re: OS Hats Thread

Just bought a regular Mariners hat and a Mariners winter beanie with the ball on top. It is white, with blue and yellow stripes down the middle and an old- Mariners logo on the front. Very cool.

I am still so torn on buying a hat of a team I don't follow.

MLB is the only sport I would consider doing it, but I don't know.

I've thought about grabbing a Nats, Pirates, Tigers or an Astros or Mariners hat (Mariners hats were my favorite growing up. I was a huge fan as a child)

      Maybe even some MiLB hats.

I am so torn - I dunno too much!

Lol, I do buy MLB 5950s of teams I don't follow, mostly American League teams (I'm a Rockie's fan). Why I laugh is that I often ask myself why I do this. I would never ever think of buying any NFL hat that isn't a Broncos one.

I don't have many hats of other teams, but I did get one of those navy and light blue Angels hats just because I love it. And I have a 76ers hat that I won when I got picked out of the crowd to do one of those games on the court, and a Red Sox hat from when I lived in Boston for a month and got to go to a Sox-Yankees game. I like to collect hats as memories.

I have a yellow Pirates cap and a yellow Brewers cap with the old logo.

It is kind of awkward when somebody comments on them and I'm like "actually, I'm a Braves fan."

Yes, awkward. This past summer Fanzz had a clearance deal on 5950s and I scored an Indians cap for 10 bucks. I wore the Indians cap to this amusement park where one of the operators hollered "Go Tribe" to me, then proceeded to start this conversation about them. I felt like an imposter, lol.

Do low crown versions of minor league team hats exist? I really want a Las Vegas 51s hat, but I'm not a trucker, a rapper or a hipster so the non-low crown hats look absurd on me.

MLB shop has actually started to carry low crown versions of 59FIFTY hats for all MLB teams so you don't have to buy them directly through New Era anymore, which is nice.

I almost bought a Pirates hat on Friday. I just couldn't pull the trigger.

I only buy hats from other teams when I go to their parks. My wife and I try to go to 2 new parks every year, it doesn't matter if it's Major or Minor league. So a new hat is always my souvenir. I have built up a nice collection thru the years.

5950's are such a fickle design in my opinion. No two hats are sized or formed the same. I don't just grab the first 7 3/8 off the shelf. It has to fit perfectly and not look like a Pharell Williams Happy Hat. I need to check out the low crowns, didn't even know about them.

Couldn't agree more. I wear a 7 3/8 in on field 5950s. But the BP hats I wear a 7 1/4. Ordered a low crown 5950, and it's huge. Last time I order a hat like that online.
