Re: Explosions at the Boston Marathon

I'm just...I don't even know. In shock isn't the right word for it, but it seems to be fitting. Since I left work an hour ago, I've had the chills constantly just thinking about it and reading about it.

I thank whatever higher beings there are, and whatever forces there are, that my sister was not watching the Marathon at either of those locations and none of the people I know who live around there were injured. This is just such a sad, disheartening event.

I just can't shake knowing that I've been to where the explosions happened. I've seen those places. It's the only city in the country that I've ever actually spent time in. While I may not live there (about 40 minutes away), it's my home, still.

I know a lot of people hate the city because of the people - they're rude, kind of racist, blunt, annoying, talk funny and are generally ****ty sports fans - but the support shown to this city today from people all over the country is amazing. Seeing NY buildings lit up with "NY <3 Boston" and ****....it's chilling.

I'm glad all of my fellow MA/Boston OSers and their families/friends are okay. I'm glad my family and friends are okay. But holy **** if I don't want to break down and lose it knowing that there are people out there, who were in the city I love, who aren't as lucky, who lost a loved one or who found out a loved one is seriously injured.

The flip side is once in a great while a person or a group of people will come forward and admit they did it.

A very senseless act. I feel for the victims, the injured and their families and whoever is caught is prosecuted abrubtly, do not pass go, go directly to jail.

This might be the best thing I've ever seen (clearly a slight exaggeration):
        Google-Doc "I have a place to offer-Boston Marathon Explosion"

People from Boston posting offering spots in their house to anyone who needs place to stay in light of explosions. Just awesome.

Re: Explosions at the Boston Marathon

I have no reason...other than my own thoughts and guesses...but I think this attack was meant to go down at the N.Y.C. Marathon in November....but the cancellation of it due to Sandy altered the plans of the perps.

                      Boston....hang tough.
I feel terrible for this victims.....some of these injuries are gruesome.

                            Disgusting.

This may be blunt but every one of those people need to be shot in the kneecaps.

All that went on there today and all you're concerned about is stealing some jackets? Jesus christ. Lowlifes in every sense of the word.

To me, the timing of the blasts are strange. It is like the top runners (from all over the world) were not the target. Rather, they were set to go off when really only Americans would be finishing the race.
