The reason why he's "lasting so long" is because they are checking houses one-by-one. If he is in the city, he will be found. It just takes time. They can't check 50 houses in 5 minutes or anything like that.

I'm amazed that this guy has still managed to elude everyone. A 19 year old kid with zero training keeping the police and FBI guessing and having a city on lock is insane.

I don't know if you seen the earlier reports. But they said very early on this morning that these guys have had paramilitary training. Just from the dog fight they had last night.

Didn't they say he and his brother had some kind of military training from overseas?

I'm not sure, I stopped following it last night when they thought they had him cornered in some building. Obviously he got out of that situation since it sounds like they have no clue where he is.

I doubt he can have much training considering he went to high school here and they have no knowledge of him leaving the country recently.

The brother was in Russia for 6 months last year. This kid wasn't.

They didn't say that. They said from the way they fought them last night. You could tell they had some sort of training.

What concerns me is that they haven't found him yet. CNN brought up a very good point, how come no one as seen him yet. In the state he's probably in I'm surprised he hasn't make a break for it, which (in my opinion) might mean he might not even be in the same area anymore.

The town he is in is barricaded. There is no way in, and no way out. If he hid in some house at 4 am, it's unlikely someone saw him if he got in unnoticed. Most people were asleep. It takes time to inspect houses one-by-one. Simple as that. If his car never got out of Watertown, safe to say he is probably in there. Like I said, you can't search hundreds of houses instantly. It's not a matter of he is on the run and is eluding the cops; it is the fact that he is trapped and it is just going to take time until they find the place he hid.

Yes they did. Pete Williams of NBC News was the one who broke the news that it wasn't the missing Brown student, and in that report he said they were from overseas and had military training.

I know a lot of people like to think in black & white, but I just don't know how I would react if a friend of mine would do something like this and I would be swallowed by cameras, microphones, and news reporters. Its hard to tell what I would say.

I know that that is true - if it was, say, my brother who out of nowhere began committing these heinous acts I imagine that I would have extreme difficulty viewing him as a monster.

Still, I think I would parse my words on the matter more than his friends have.

I think people are being a little too inpatient at this point in the game. With everything being shut down. This kid had no way to go. He dumped the car. Got on foot. The police are checking each and every house.
