In Iraq and Afganistan, you have much easier access to materials that make deadlier bombs. You try to purchase some of those components in the US and the FBI is aware immediately.

Yeah, I didn't want to say anything, but this was far from the most organized bombing, especially with all the unexploded bombs they have found so far.

Thank Goodness for that too. If they were organized, this would have been far worse.

There have been a lot of the "pros" that have had foiled/unsuccessful detonations too.

        Let's just wait, yeah?

That's exactly what I was thinking. An actual terrorist group wouldn't go through all this trouble for what came out of it.

I dont agree that there are more events like this. Assuming this is a terrorist attack, its the first one of this kind in 11 plus years. In the 90's we had the WTC bombing and OKC bombing within 2 yrs of each other. Internationally, the number of suicide bombings outside of warzones has actually decreased over the last decade.

I'm just glad they are unsuccessful. It would have been far worse.

This is true, you can't exactly go out and find a old Artillery shell in a dump. It's more or less just a hunch, nothing to base it on.

Ehhh, these 2 are still pretty high up there. But this isn't the appropriate place for this so I'll leave it at that.

I can say this much, by the end of tonight, Authorities will be able to determine if it is domestic or Foreign. These unexplored bombs are essentially a roadmap as to where to find your suspect.

                            The world is going fine.

We probably live in the safest geopolitical environment ever. Within most OSers lifetime, the biggest geopolitical threat to the United States was a communist superpower with 20,000 nuclear warheads facing this country.

I'll take what will probably amount to an small-scale Timothy McVeigh over that, thanks.

On topic, my thoughts go out to those affected.

Yea, I hope we can gather all the intel we can and go from there. I don't wanna hear about what or who it could be, I wanna hear who actually did this and have them brought to justice.

We've had a rash of shootings the past year it seems, not so bombings here in the US. So this is different territory. Scary.
