What happened today sucks, yes, but the world is not on fire.

I'll take what will probably amount to an amateur Timothy McVeigh over that, thanks.

Great post. I'll take this over the Cold War any day.

Yea as terrible as it is, I want to point out the reason these things seem more common is because "News" has become more about sensationalizing everything. The goal of the media and news sources now is to gain as much attention as possible and that means everything from shootings, to stabbings, to explosions are brought front and center over and over again while other important news is pushed to the back burner because it won't invoke fear and hook you into watching as this will.

So the world is not burning and becoming "a much worse place", instead that is just all that is shown now sadly.

CNN is reporting that 6 of the 28 injured are in critical condition, hoping for some good news.

Commish says the JFK Library explosion wasn't controlled.

I tend to subscribe to this notion. There's no getting around the terrible nature of these events today but the fact there's now nearly unlimited access to all corners of information nowadays means it's very easy for anything to grow to extreme proportions.

JFK fire reportedly not related to marathon explosions.
