He didn't exactly give himself up. He lied dying in a boat all day in hiding and it took hours to get him out and in custody.

Had he not been bleeding and that woman not noticed it on her shed or whatever, once night fell, he probably would have gone on the run.

We're still talking about a 19 year old in a stressful situation. Would think his intent was to run over the cops so his brother could get away to him and in the process, was unable to stop the car and just ran his brother over. Don't think his intent was to kill his brother although its certainly very possible.

        Very true.

Also thinkit's very possible with the amount of blood lost and in the condition he was in, that he may have died in that boat overnite.

Pretty odd that he just completely disappeared from the news. Some journalist needs to get on that.

          Pretty odd, indeed...

This doesn't seem to have any traction or coverage anywhere on the interwebs...

None that I can find, which is why I posted...

          VERY interesting, methinks...

All good man! We're all adults here. It is a discussion board and you were just sharing your piece. No harm, no foul. And maybe someone reading learned something in the process.

KingV, good question. That was all the rage for an hour there. Regardless of connection or not to the actual bombers, shouldn't someone be covering that? It doesn't make any sense...

He's actually rumored to have attempted suicide, hence the throat and neck injuries.

You guys are waaaaay more facile with the internet than I am...

                Anybody find ANYTHING?

It's very odd if it's just been, like totally redacted from the entirety of the web...

Did a bit of research and all I could find was they brought in an EOD team to search him. Then that's basically it.

I can't find a good video anywhere that I can post here, but this is a quote from a CNN reporter.

"Being in Watertown right now the streets are empty. It’s eerie. It’s as though a bomb had dropped somewhere and the streets are clear."

                      That was recent?

Makes sense I guess, it's going to be a while before that town gets back to normal. If I lived there, I don't know what I would do. You have to at least still wonder if there are more accomplices in the area.

I'm not really expecting anything better from the media at this point.

That's what I was going to say. Where's the surprise? Many in the media say stupid **** all of the time. Still a terrible and idiotic choice of words.

Yeah, they do say stupid **** all the time. But that was beyond stupid. You don't see "Oh, the streets of Newtown are somber tonight, as if there was a school shooting". Because that would have been beyond stupid.

Was just watching a CNN video that said he fired shots from the boat. If that's the case it certainly wasn't a "won't be taken alive" situation as he could have just turned the gun on himself.

But then I don't get why he'd run his brother over after he was cuffed. Unless it was an accident and he didn't even realize it while trying to get away from a thousand cops.
