Silverfish aren't usually bigger than an inch or so (body length). I have only seen a few and none I remember being past that.Comment

Pretty much what doc said as far as size.
The worst part about those things is that they're tough to grab with a tissue or something without smearing them on the wall, and it doesn't clean off very well on light surfaces (like a stain).Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Has anyone ever seen a house centipede? My wife completely freaked when she saw one on our stairs late at night. It was about 2 1/2 inches long with lots of spider-like legs and it was extremely fast.
I was going to kill it but I read that it kills all other bugs in your house. Some people even let them be and they treat it like a bug hitman. Out of respect I released this monster into the wild.

House centipedes, pfft. Just get a paper towel, grab it, ball up the towel to crush it and then toss it in the trash.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: Killing ants with Grits (or any other cornmeal)?
I have some ants living on my front lawn. I looked online and saw some recommendations for using Quaker Grits (or other cornmeal brands). Just spread it around, and once the ants eat it and it expands - they are supposed to die.
Has anyone tried this? Any other methods fro getting rid of ants?
Thanks!
Try Boric Acid. You can get from the dollar store. It is highly effective against pests. it comes in a powder or liquid. I use both. It kills waterbugs, ants, spiders etc....Best of all its affordable.
Please don't waste any more grits, lolComment

Not sure what brings them about but I've read they feed on protein rich crap like hair which makes sense because I ALWAYS see them in the bathroom when I see them.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Florida State! Florida State! Florida State! Wooooo!Comment

Found mine in the living room and office. But my hair is liable to be everywhere, so there is that.Comment
