We can't debate any racial aspects, just wondering what mainstream media's going to do.

What the media always does: sensationalizes and applies hot topic buttons to stories that have nothing to do with it.

Its already trending that way anyway.

It's hard to tell what direction the media would go. Does this even get air time if it didnt involve an Australian baseball player in the US? The heinous nature of the crime would leave me to think it would but you can't say with certainty.

Also there isn't really a debate about this case. There has been a confession and the intent behind the shooting is difficult to stick on somebody in a court of law. There is no unknown in this case for the most part therefore people can't really debate on the hypotheticals. A case with a crucial unknown that the case hinges on would warrant that debate/discussion/speculation.

Right...being bored and stupid is a poor platform for a cause.

I agree with you that there probably won't be anything near the pot-stirring of certain more recent cases.

I do know that as a parent, I can't imagine the pain the parents of the victim given the sudden, random nature of this and what these kids are giving as motivation. You'd have to lock me up for awhile to keep those three safe.

True...it's not like the Trayvon/Zimmerman encounter where you could question intent and whatnot.

Just imagine that if this was racially reversed this would blow up in the news even more...I think you're right though, if it wasn't the baseball player from Australia and just some random white kid we may not have heard anything at all...
