Thanks guys. Nothing really new. She is stable but with an irregular heartbeat. As for the seizures they were convulsions from not enough blood to the brain due to pressure dropping. Doctors are trying to figure out why the blood pressure kept dropping.

It never gets easy seeing people we love and care about go through anything...especially when we can't help. I'm glad to hear she's stable. That's a huge positive.

I am 25 years old, and my father went into the hospital this past July 5th after he lost his voice and had a lump on his back (he passed away August 19th of lung cancer, but that's beyond the spectrum of this current conversation), so I know what it's like to see a parent in the hospital with a serious condition. I feel for you. It's tough as hell.

Every situation is different, so I'm not going to pretend to know what will make you or her feel better, but it helped me to spend as much time as possible with my father and just have conversations as we normally would... Discuss his health as little as possible and try to take his mind off of it.

Update. They are gonna try to wake mom up out of sedation today and remove the breathing tube. Hopefully she can recover. It has been so draining since Thursday. The days seem like they are blending into each other. I can't sleep right. Finally getting some good news that she might be strong enough get off the ventilator. I just sit here and keep praying and hoping. It's all I can do. That is the part that bothers me most. I want to do something to help. And there isn't anything that I am able to.

I lost my mom in May from complications during a bone marrow transplant (another story for another place) so I know how tough this can be but remember, she knows you're there praying and hoping. Sometimes just being there to comfort our loved ones is all we can do and that is more help then you think it might be.

She's stable and it sounds as if the Doctors have hope so you must as well. It's not easy but be strong for her.
