Re: Off Topic 2014
I can no longer consider Alice Cooper's "Eighteen" to be my theme song anymore. Turn 19 today.
Also, I was looking for an awesome birthday gif to post, but I found this instead:

Anyone have cell provider that isn't Verizon/AT&T or similar?
I'm getting off my family plan soon. Currently paying $45/month for 2GB data usage, unlimited text and whatever amount of minutes.
I have an iPhone 4S if that makes a difference.
My brother has MetroPCS and has been with them for a while. I live in a suburban/urban area so their service seems pretty good besides when you're in the sticks, in which my current Verizon service dies too anyway. Personally, I think the whole coverage thing is bogus... If you're in the middle of nowhere, you're SOL anyway.
Just wanted to hear some opinions. I like how MetroPCS offers unlimited data for $45/month. I already have a phone that is doing well going close to 2 years now. I am planning on buying a phone for my fiancé, maybe I can get a deal on something for signing up for a new plan.Last edited by slickdtc; 01-07-2014, 11:00 AM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: Off Topic 2014
Okay, got a situation I feel like I should ask about.
Now for those who don't know (or most likely forgot from the Twitter crew), I got kicked out of my father's house back in October. One of my friends took me in, and I've been paying him rent. Now I paid my full portion in December, but I had to leave after two weeks because he went home and I don't have a key, so staying there wasn't an option. Yesterday I asked him what is the deal is this month for rent seeing as I paid in full last month, had to leave, and when I get back there's only two weeks left in the month (so in essence, I would be paying 2 months worth of rent for 1). His reply was "Yeah but it doesn't change for me when I go home."
I feel like with 1) No key and 2) Having to leave whenever he goes home for an extended period, there should either be a change to the agreement or there should be a way where I could have access "freely" since I've being held to the same standard he's being held to by the complex. Am I wrong in thinking like that?Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

Why didn't you ask him for a key to stay? I would have pushed the issue before the leaving occurred. After the fact makes it harder, might have to eat those 2 weeks but going forward you need some clear cut rules.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Off Topic 2014
Me and my other roommate (it's 3 of us staying in a one bedroom, college life for you) have asked for a key repeatedly, but he keeps avoiding it (and I understand, as I'm sure this isn't what he expected when he got the place a couple years ago and you don't want a lot of keys to your spot just out there). I haven't pressed it as much as our other roommate because I'm paying less and this is just temporary until I can find a job and save some money up.Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

Re: Off Topic 2014
You need to get a place of your own is what you need to do. Situations like the one you're in go sour sooner then later 9 times out of 10.
Let's be honest: your boy don't want you there. You didn't have a place to crash so he took you in, but we all want our own space to be our own. I feel like he's slowly phasing you outta the crib. It's hard to tell someone straight up, I don't want you here.
You gotta confront him about it. Get the truth, no sugarcoat, no BS. And make a plan from there. Set a date to move out and find somewhere else more stable.
It's hard to move out, and very hard to do it on your own. I don't know what you do, work, school, etc. But if it takes getting a second job and working morning to night, or borrowing some money to get that first month rent/security deposit down, do it. If you can't, gotta swallow some pride and go back home and hope they take you in. If that takes showing them you'll do whatever it takes, go out and do it.
Good luck man. Keep your head up. When the going gets tough, work harder! Rely on yourself because that's all you got when push comes to shove. It'll pay off. Maybe not now, or next week, or even next year. But you keep working hard, studying hard, and being a good person and fortune has a way of smiling upon you.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: Off Topic 2014
Rent payment = key. No way around that.
I'd say you're gonna have to eat the two weeks unless he refuses to give you your own key and then you need to work out a different arrangement.

Re: Off Topic 2014
I'm with y'all on the I need my own place ASAP part because it really isn't the most comfortable situation for any of us. Hopefully now that I have a car, I can find a job.
