Cinco de Mayo is a white people holiday. I have seriously never met one single Mexican who knew what the Battle of Puebla was.



I don't know if it's different now but we used to get a 4-day weekend from school for rodeo in February.

I always thought it was a big deal. I mean we get the day off from school due to it.

Over a phone

A man died, a woman is missing and presumed dead, and a third person is hospitalized after all three ended up in the Chicago River early Monday morning.

A 26-year-old man dropped his phone along the riverwalk and fell in when he lunged after it about 12:05 a.m. The two people with the man, a 21-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, went in the water after him.

So this year hasn't started very well for me. Two people close to me has passed away.

My co-worker and close friend just passed away from a long fight with pancreatic cancer. He passed away hours after I saw him. He mentored me when I was younger and I credit him for who I have become at work.

Sorry to be the downer for the day but this has been really tough for me...
