Re: Off Topic 2014
I believe its time to get serious about going back to school and getting this CPA thing - considering it was a 5 year goal in my interview 3 years ago.

I've been seriously considering going back to school for a masters as well. It might be time, indeed.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2014
I just need 150 credit hours to be licensed. I can sit for the exam. And pass it. Still need those hours for licensing.
The funny thing is I don't even think the extra credits have to be accounting though they basically equal a 5th year which most do a one-year masters of science for accounting. Essentially another way to rib more money out of me.
JMU offer a CPA review "bootcamp" (4 days/week, 4 hours/day, 6 weeks) after May graduation that has a 90% success rate. Obviously that's more money, too.

Chase, I was addicted to Monster as well. It's happened before too. I stopped cold turkey for a bit then back to it. So far in the 2014 I have only had one, though. I don't mind having it once in a while, but I was having at least one a day, more like 10-11 a week.Comment

I actually sat for all 4 exams and failed all 4 but without proper preparation. I did get 3 in the low 60s...and Audit was a huge disaster with a 45.
I'm at a point where I want to pass but am not showing the proper dedication and motivation.Comment

FT, I'm in the same boat as you. I have 130 credits, I just need 7 random classes.

A part of me wants to go back for the full year to get that distinguished paper and to re-visit college surroundings (the potential danger there is staggering - I miss those jogging shorts and yoga pants), but another part wants me to do some random courses and just do the bootcamp.
My only reservation with that is being out of school for so long and then subjecting myself to that stretch of accounting hell/fun.

Re: Off Topic 2014
I don't why or how but I received a text message from a number telling me to call urgently, I though it was for a job interview that I applied a few days ago so I called. It was a Spanish (but that I mean with a Spanish accent, not simply someone speaking the language) guy with a electronic voice which I guess was a bot; "he" said that I won a contest and that "he" required my name, age, sex and bank account, yeah I was totally going to give all that to him. Now it's becoming annoying because that number has sent me like four message since and I can't find a way to reply and it's sent the same message to my mother. Guess it's sending the same message to several other numbers too, hopefully no one falls into that trap.Comment

I was presented the Dean's Award (dunno how it's called in US) today, also got a special award for having the best final presentation of my generation. Wooooooooooo
Really worked hard for his, I'm beyond excited right now. It took me 21 years to realize hard work DOES pay off.Khalabeeb - Tony Henderson
