I first played organized basketball in 2nd grade. My main memory is that the league was "no press" and I had no idea what "press" was. I kept getting whistled for trying to defend full court, coach would remind me it's a "no press" league and I kept doing it anyway since I had no clue.

I also remember the only time I scored was on a fast break when I randomly pulled up from the FT line and everyone groaned, but I rattled it in anyway!

Furthermore, we once lost 29-2 and our only points came because a kid from the other team accidentally scored in the wrong basket

lol, grade school basketball. Playing with the most worn out basketballs imaginable where ball control for even the best player in the class was hard.

I hate how I never developed a jump shot. Cause in grade school, all you'd do is just throw the ball to the hoop. I was still a good 3pt shooter even just doing that, but I still wonder how good I might have actually been had I shot properly.

To any OS police folk, my roommate just threatened me. I don't have it recorded, so naturally I have no proof (and I know if confronted, he and his girlfriend will deny it). He said next time he hears me talking **** behind his back, he's not afraid to come in my room and beat my ***. He said he's not afraid to shoot me, that he has a gun in his car right now. We're going to have a discussion when the other roommates get home, but I know he won't repeat his threat around them either. What course of action should I take?

If you feel threatened that he will commit bodily harm AND the threat is credible, you have a case. I'm speaking per California law so the lingo in your state could be different. However, you are right... You don't have any evidence other than yours and his word.

It still isn't a lost cause though. You can make a police report to document it at the very least. Also, this could lead to a restraining order in the future as extra protection for you.

Like others said, I would advise you to leave and avoid any further harm and/or confrontations.

Him saying a gun is in the car could be a credible threat. Could be intimidation but how are you suppose to know he has a gun or not? It's not a chance you should take.

I coached 5th & 6th grade girls back in my early college days. I don't remember having that much difficulty getting them to run a few set plays. I remember I was even able to get them to add a few wrinkles to the set.

I may have had a smart team though.

Huh... perhaps you did...

I should also mention that this is about the easiest set I've ever run across, too. All it is is 3 out, 2 in, on the two low blocks:
Pass to the wing= screen across
Pass to the top= screen down
pass to the post= screen up

Aaaaand that's it. And yet it seems like it's rocket science when we bring a defense in on it. I just don't understand it. I mean, I understand screwing up once in a while... I was running it with them for a few possessions at one point and went brain neutral and screwed it up once, but with them, it's basically like this: pass to the wing... What do I do? I know! I'll run up right next to her and get the ball back! Even though coach has told us a thousand times that... That. Doesn't. Work.

I am really glad that it's not just me though. I will admit that. I really just needed to vent a bit, because this was really getting on my nerves. They're all great girls (I do a little bit of work with the 7th and 8th graders too, and they're a bit better), but my goodness, they don't focus and they wonder why I get upset when they come in and can't run our offense to save their lives. It's a bit frustrating. This has been a rewarding experience overall, but this has just drove me up a wall.

That is the exact set I was running! Most of the girls I coached had been playing for 2 years or more. Coming from all a small town most everybody started organized ball around 2nd grade.

But yeah, alert the authorities, talk to your other roommates, let them know what's up.

You never know with some people, they might just be crazy enough to do something serious.

I swear...this ****ing roommate. Not only does he not have a garage door opener so he really has no business having his car in the garage, but he has HIS FRIEND'S CAR in my spot in the garage and they're working on it. **** him.
