Re: Off Topic 2014
My thought's exactly. I am over here debating doing a speedball of ginseng and gingko biloba because I can't remember what I ate for breakfast.Last edited by VTPack919; 01-29-2014, 02:32 PM.YNWAComment

Re: Off Topic 2014
The pilot went out last night. I really have no experience with that stuff so I couldn't get it lit. The landlord came this morning and relit the pilot. I could hear gas running through the radiators when I left.
Girlfriend says radiators haven't kicked in yet and calls the landlord who has a plumber come and check it out. Apparently its so damn dirty that the soot has compacted and basically blocked the lines. Unfortunately its looking like things will have to be replaced and we don't have a timeline for when heat will be back.
I'm thinking of just not sending rent until this is all fixed. We have a weather/radio-clock in our bathroom. It was 45 degrees in there this morning. Talk about cold ****!

The house is gas heated and has a boiler that might be older than my parents.

Re: Off Topic 2014
My area got 2 inches of snow overnight and there was no salting or plowing of the roads. It's a people issue, which is why I find it funny.

And that's all I have to say about that

CALERA – Calera residents can now buy alcohol and cigarettes without getting out of their car. The first drive-through liquor store in the state, R&R Wine and Liquor, opened on Highway 31 next to Subway and Publix in November 2013.
“Calera was in need of one,” said Beau Rourke, one of R&R’s owners. “Where I am, it’s at least 10 miles until the next one.”
While most visitors prefer to come in and browse the selection, many of the repeat customers take advantage of the drive-through option, he said.
“It’s really just about the convenience,” Rourke explained. “If they know they can go to a drive-through, instead of having to go inside a store, I think they’ll turn to us.”
In addition to saving customers time, having the drive-through also provides another level of safety for the R&R workers.

Re: Off Topic 2014
4 inches of snow with ice going untreated can be tough, it's just enough to make driving a hazard.
But the fact that it shut down Atlanta...man, that's not even hilarious, that's just sad. Go slow and take your time, no need to shut down the entire city.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Off Topic 2014
Just after Xmas I was riding home with my sister, brother in law, and baby niece from Flint to Saginaw, a trip that usually takes about 45 minutes. It was about 35 degrees and started to rain a little, on I75 there was a moment where everything immediately changed to ice and cars started slipping and crashing all over the place.
Northbound ended up getting shut down, it was a nasty scene, just from a little freezing rain that caught people off guard. We had to take a detour (got off the freeway just in time), and the whole trip took well over two hours. While stopped at stop sign, I noticed a driver stopped in the road facing opposite traffic, although no cars were coming. Then as cars approached he chose this moment to attempt a U-turn, causing all three vehicles to collide and smash into a ditch.
Even experienced northern drivers **** up. The moral is, North or South doesn't matter, idiots are everywhere.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
