Give me the duck sized horses. Horse sized duck seems dangerous somehow. Ducks are definite wild cards.

I'll slay the duck. A Husky would have no greater honor.

I'd rather take on the horses but that duck would fill my freezer for a long time.

That map is a little skewed though since it doesn't account for wind. I know in Saginaw (right on the 6" to 12" border) it would never shut down for 6" of snow unless it was gusting drifts all over the roads.

Gimme the Horse-sized duck. The duck-sized horses would still be pretty damn strong considering their musculature.

I feel as if I'd be able to bait the big duck into a trap, somehow. 100 mini-tough horses would just be too great of a number to overcome.

That is one letter away from being very awkward.

6" seems about right for Pittsburgh/Allegheny County, maybe a bit less. Like l3ulvl said, there are other variables such as temperature, wind, and icing that may contribute to whether or not schools are closed.

About an inch is accurate for us. I would love if we got 6 inches and the whole city shuts down.

24+ is pushing it. They'll close school here if it looks like we'll get over a foot during the day. Even less if there are blizzard conditions. It all depends on how the road clearing is progressing. There are a lot of kids in rural areas that need to be bussed to school.

The article is right about the cold, though. If there's a wind chill warning, school will be closed because the kids who have to walk or stand at the bus stop can get frostbite in 5-10 minutes. I think they're up to 7 days cancelled here this year already. That is a very unusual number to be at for an entire winter, let alone the end of January. 5 of them are because cold. The other 2 were because we did, in fact, receive over 24 inches of snow in a two-day period. There have been days where the windchill has been -40 in the afternoon this winter.
