Well fellas, after much delay, I finally landed a promotion that was promised to me almost a year ago. Glad I stuck it out as I do enjoy working here. Will be spending a lot of time traveling with the new gig. Most importantly a significant increase in salary. Which is huge considering an upcoming wedding and the misses expressing wanting to become a mother soon after.

Married with 2 kids and a career. Grown up life. *sigh*

Sometimes I feel like our media are just professional trolls and dicks. I understand the 5th loop didn't open at the end of the Opening Ceremony. That sucks and I can understand being disappointed, but does it need to be brought up every damn opportunity during the weekend?

It's politically driven. They have a purpose in making Russia look inept. Don't get me wrong, I'm not much a fan of the country. But much like you, I think it's about to let it go and move on. This isn't the place.

I get that feeling a lot lately. It probably comes with the fact that I've been studying it for four years, but man media can be an absolute moral wasteland.

Amen. Too much focus on the negative in Sochi from most media outlets. I would love to hear some of the good coming from the game. If you only paid attention to what the media has said you would assume it is one big cluster****.

Regarding Heavy Rain - for me it was too short and control in the game is taken away too much. The story was also "meh". It's a great-looking game, though, that's for sure. I just had no desire to play through to get any of the other endings.

If you watch the actual sports, you see that the venues are world class. I can also never get enough of reactions like the Russian speed skater who wasn't expected to do much, but won a bronze.

I actually caught that speed skater who got bronze this weekend. That right there is what the Olympics are all about. Not a ring failing to light up or a bathroom door being made of cardboard and communist sweat.

How do you hold your gaming controller? Four fingers on all the buttons or just two?

I used to do thumbs on the sticks/face buttons + index fingers on the shoulders, but after I broke my index finger on my right hand just before GTA IV came out, I've always used my index and middle fingers on the shoulders since then.

I'm with those that say Far Cry 3. Story line was weird at times and off, but the gameplay was so fun. So many side missions and different ways to go about them. One of my favorite games.

For the record, I didn't play Uncharted 2. I actually only played the first Uncharted game and I own 3. I need to pick up 2 and play those.

Heavy Rain was very enjoyable as well.

Agreed about the story. I'm over half way through the main story missions, and it just seems they're just making it weird for no reason. Some of it makes zero sense really.

But the gameplay, like you said, more than makes up for it. Going out exploring is legitimately stressful. Especially if you run out of your hunting syringes.

Oh, and I'm not sure I'll ever play through the story again, just to avoid that one sequence in the underground ruins. **** all that.
