Maybe I'm taking sports too serious here, but how can you call yourself a fan of a team and also support a main rival?

I have my favorite teams, but also follow the local Philly teams (but don't profess to be a "fan" of them). But when the Reds met the Phils in the playoffs a couple seasons ago, damn right I didn't give one **** about anything Phillies. And that's not even NYY/BOS or Flyers/Penguins. That's just, no. It doesn't work that way.

I have a rivalry with the Wizards on NBA2k14, nobody gives me as much trouble as they do. Last night at about 2am I got a little too tipsy and had a rage moment, yelling at the game like drunken fool. As luck would have it, some girl happened to be passing by in the hall and yelled back lol. Not even sure what she said but it cracked me up. Saved the game, resumed today while sober, won by 3

This reminds me of how Speedy Claxton would troll me in one of the old 2k games. He was maybe 75 rated but that little mother ****er would constantly **** with me and BS me at the buzzer.

One thing I've been thinking of lately that I want to see what other people think.

What do people think of fans who support multiple teams(not in a bandwagon type of way),and both teams they support just happen to be rivals?

EX-For NHL, how would you feel about someone who supports both the Leafs and Habs? Or for MLB, how would you feel about someone who supports both the Red Sox and Yankees? Or for NFL, how would you feel about someone who supports both Vikings and Packers,or Ravens and Steelers?

Who would they root for when the rivals play each other? I'm by no means a guy who tells anyone how to be a fan but that's just stupid.

Since people were talking about old shows they used to watch....I was looking on twitter and noticed twitter is blowing up right now cause of something that happened at the kids choice awards. Don't know what exactly, but it had something to do with Dan Schneider(aka the person responsible for the big name Nickelodeon shows like All That,Kenan and Kel,Amanda Show,Zoey 101 among others)

Maybe I'm off here, but as a Twins fan, I don't mind the Royals. In fact, I would say that I "like" them... unless they're playing the Twins or if them losing helps the Twins move up to the top of the standings or something, of course. I feel like teams who are generally viewed as "doormats" are a bit different than other "rivals." I feel that way about the Bucks as well, not the Redskins though. That could just be me though.

As for rooting for rivals, I can't. I don't hate Green Bay but I'll be rooting for them to go 0-16 every year. I do hate the Bears but that has more to do with my hate for Jay Cutler's face.

I always see people trying to take the high road in the playoffs and it tournaments by rooting for their rivals to win the Championship because it'll look good for the conference. You can bet your *** every single time Ohio State makes the NCAA Tournament that I'm hoping they lose in the first round or every time they make a bowl (or playoff game) in the future that I'm hoping they get blown out.

I don't know about "liking" them, but I can definitely see not hating a team in the division that should be a rival. It's like that for me with the Rangers and Mariners. I despise every other team in the division, but if the Mariners ever wanted to pick up the wild card, I'd be fine with it.

I do remember when JJLinn was a Browns fan, OSUFan was not amused at him cheering for the Ravens during their last Super Bowl run on here.

My grandparents went to Georgia and I love Athens, so I don't hate Georgia. I don't actively root for them, but if Tennessee can't win the SEC, then I hope Georgia does.

Now, when we play each other, I hate them. And if a Georgia loss benefits us in any way, shape or form, I'm all for it.

I dont hate the Jets. But thats not really a rivalry in the traditional sense. I dont root against them unless they play the Giants. Which only happens once every 4 years.
