I do. It takes some management because any web page will have multiple scripts running and you've got to set it to allow certain ones while killing others. Not allowing the right scripts will make the page not even load.

I'm working with it now, I really like it. It takes some fine tuning as you mentioned, but seems to be a good thing to have.

I bought a bunch of **** because I was under the impression that I was going to be getting another job this past Thursday. Fortunately the stuff wasn't super expensive because I was told that while the supervisor of the department wanted me and thought I was the best interview, my old supervisor said no (I have no idea why the **** she even had any say, she's a dumb bitch anyways who doesn't know how to run a department) and the GM decided that he was going to take a full-time employee from my old supervisors department and give him the job because it's part-time and he didn't want to pay him full-time anymore.

• So, I had a Japanese-Australian girl hitting on me in the Airport last night. I'm not saying it just to be talking either, she was really hitting on me and It confused the hell out of me for a while. She sat beside me during the wait for the bus that goes to the plane and then on the bus and then once we were leveled off in the air, she moved seats and continued talking to me. I was talking to my LPO about it on the ride from the Airport and he's like yep.. you're tall and white.
  
• I'm glad I'm in Sasebo. I didn't think I would prefer it at first, but smaller town Japan is where I really need to be + I'm assigned to a ship that really only goes underway once every month or two and it's only for about 5 days.
• Japanese people while quiet, friendly, and clean... are also perverted as ****. I don't even need to talk about the **** you can buy for what would be roughly $20-30 USD. I just need to stay my *** on base.
• I'm feeling the jet lag like a mofo right now and I still haven't met my roomate. I'm stealing his wifi as we speak, though. If it's a problem I'll just pay him for it. I just wanted to reach out to home some how and I haven't got set up yet. I'm sure dude will understand.
• I purchased a beer from a vending machine last night.. mind blown.
• I didn't think I was that into Japanese girls.. I was ****ing wrong.

I've always wondered this too in a general sense for anyone from any country visiting a country where the major language is different from their own. Either the tourists would have to be at least partially bilingual or they would have to find people who can speak both languages.

I've only really had encounters with people in Airports and around the base so far and everyone has spoke decent English. I think it's a pretty common thing for Japanese kids to learn, while growing up.

Most know enough to at least make communication possible. Apparently during my indoc. week here they are going to take us on a tour and attempt to teach us the basics. I doubt I get much from it, but I'll try.

Unrelated:

I exchanged for 10,000 yen in Dallas a few days ago. I missed out on about 200 yen in value, but they waived the 10$ fee for military so it wasn't bad. What I've learned so far is that exchanging actual currency is the common thing in Japan. A 10,000 yen piece is close to what a $100.00 bill would be in America. If you go to the average gas station and buy a 2$ drink they couldn't change the 100 bill and would probably even get mad at you about it, but they will gladly give you change for 10,000 yen here. Most of the average things you buy in a store can be purchased with coins too.. crazy different. While I love just swiping a card, I can appreciate the exchange of actual paper money.

Funny you say this. This guy I worked with in Alaska married a Korean chick with an Australian accent. Was very weird listening to her talk.

I did an IP check and my roommate has Americable internet. I'm going to bring up a split with him. I don't know if the company can put two people and two modems in the same small room and I'm not sure if that would even make sense or be beneficial to either of us. I may ask him if he wants to upgrade to their best package, let me give him half his install fee back, and then go in halves on the bill. The only problem is their best package is only 15mbps and the reviews I've read said you're lucky to even get that half the time. He has an XBOX One on his desk, but I think it wouldn't be a problem with us both connecting with a console and/or laptop.

If he will go for it, my situation here might be even better than I had anticipated. I don't need much if I have a decent internet connection. I can communicate with people back home through apps and my laptop and then just get a cheap 10$ plan for a phone for calls and texts here.

There just aren't many good internet options here on base. I've been researching for about an hour. The rest are far worse for the cost.

I can't begin to describe her accent. It wasn't bad and it was very unique. She said she was Japanese, but was born in Australia and lived there for several years.
