Re: Off Topic 2014
Donald Sterling's comments were absolutely unacceptable and I agree with the decision to ban him, but Larry Johnson's comments were equally as unacceptable (Or more so, even) and I don't understand why he isn't getting a similar treatment. Racism isn't a one way street.
Is there more to it than Sterling's most recent quote?1905 1921 1922 1933 1954 2010 2012

Re: Off Topic 2014
Sterling has been a known scumbag for years.
And no ones paying Larry Johnsons stupid *** any mind because hes irrelevant and everyone agreed what he said was dumb as hell.
Besides we've been talking about this for days in yhe NBA forum anyway

Its actually been good since the playoffs started. Then this happened. Discussion has been a lot more civil than most console discussions. One person got the pink name. That's all I've seen so far.
More so? I don't really think so. Like others have said Sterling has a history with this. Sterling himself, though, is only the tip of the iceberg for entrenched racism in America.Donald Sterling's comments were absolutely unacceptable and I agree with the decision to ban him, but Larry Johnson's comments were equally as unacceptable (Or more so, even) and I don't understand why he isn't getting a similar treatment. Re: Off Topic 2014
I know we like to dump on the NBA forum, but the league is essentially an individual league these days. So all the *insert player name here* vs. *insert player name here* talk is warranted. And as Fresh pointed out the forum has handled Sterling extremely well.Comment

Sterling's actions have been far worse than his words though. Wish there was some real justice that could come of the way he actual hurts people. Words only do so much damage.
The right thing was done as far as the NBA is concerned, but the guy deserves more away from the league as well.
Surprised to hear about how well the NBA forum is handling that. I remembering how bad some of the player vs player arguments had been in the past and only assumed this would be just as bad if not worse.YNWAComment

Definitely. He's a slumlord. Still, his words give away his mindset which I don't necessarily think is limited to only him within that upper echelon of wealth/influence. I think Sterling is the tip of the iceberg, but mainstream, middle America will only ride this wave until Sterling is resolved - not the actual inequality and inopportunity of our country's systems and rural/inner city areas.Sterling's actions have been far worse than his words though.
