So........ the conversation came to tell this guy he was a lineman when it came to offense. Him not being able to catch helped this. He took it well and turned into one of our better linemen. Because he took it well and didn't bitch and whine, I let him get in a couple plays at WR a couple games ago. On the very last play of our last game I put him in at fullback to again show him I appreciated his attitude. I gave him the ball. Dude breaks like a 30 yard run. I put him at fullback the next day (Thursday) at practice and he's a hammer running the football and destroying kids as a lead blocker.This dude be coming out to agility/conditioning with the WR gloves on, man. I'm gonna let him "dream" until practice starts. I'm assuming he's gonna quit when I point him towards the linemen that first day.
Speaking of parenting, funny story from a couple years ago.
I had this kid (linemen) that didn't play much at all. I play everyone as long as they bust their *** and known what they're doing. You may not play much, but I'll make sure your parents see you.
A mom comes in and ask why her son doesn't play. I tell her that he doesn't know what he's doing. Her reply? "He's good at guarding".
Was my response.
So I call him over in front of her. I ask him, "What do you do on Jet Left?" He says, "Go right.". I let him know that he goes to the left.
I then ask "what do you do on Belly Right?". He says, "Go left". I let him know that he goes to the right.
Final test. And it's a tricky. I ask, "What do you do on waggle right?". He says.... Go right. I inform he that he goes left.
Mom looks at me with the most blank expression.

I went from laughing at this kid to being one of his biggest fans. Awesome feeling when kids prove you wrong or surprise you like this.

Got up early to put roast in the crock pot. Slow cooking and making house smell good. AhhhI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
