I didn't realize how expensive almond flour is. Same for me. Strained Achilles stemming from a bone spur eating at it. Right knee tendonitis from partially tearing my ACL a few years back and now a pinched nerve in my lower back which was causing my calves to go numb and making my legs fall asleep very quickly. Also had a pinched nerve in my shoulder but that went away (knocks on wood).

Appreciate it DJ. Doing somewhat better. Was better on vacation, now that I'm back to work, the swelling and soreness are back.
But on another note, still going strong with P90x3. Starting to see a difference even at this early of a stage. I just need to strengthen my core, and hopefully that'll make a difference with my back.Twitter - WTF_OS

Was your car accident on duty? Thanks for that recipe. We're thinking about doing the Paleo lifestyle. I don't know if I can make it to be honest
I'm on day 6 of P90X3. Had a car wreck, severe herniation of L5/S1 and Moderate Herniation of L2/L3. Working my way back, without their recommendation of seeing a neurologist/neurosurgeon.

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Its funny how working normal 8-9 hour days instead of 10-11 increases motivation to work out when I get home. /Accountantsproblems
4th day of a new round of Insanity. Its weird, but I can feel the extra weight on me when I work out. I hate it. I'm thinking of doubling up today and doing the Pure Cardio in addition to Cardio Recovery.
Depending on the weather this weekend I'd like to get some trail time in with the dog.

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
I reported my last weight in here on Feb. 15th at 269lbs.
Today, I'm happily reporting my weight at 259lbs, a weight I haven't seen in several years.
That's about 1lb per week weight loss, which I have no issues with. Earlier in the month, I had arthroscopic knee surgery on a Friday and started walking for 30 minutes per day on Tuesday.
I increased that to 45 minutes to an hour the next week. So, far, so good. I see my regular doctor today and hopefully, my last appt. for my orthopedic doctor next Weds. I finished knee rehab last Thursday, but my therapist mentioned he would like me to continue the every day workouts till the end of June and said it would be a good idea to keep it up indefinitely for 3 days per week after that.
Not sure I'll reach 240lbs by July the like my predictions, but I'll definitely be in the 240's somewhere.Comment

My workouts fell by the wayside again last week as I was on the road for work. You always think you'll have time to get a workout in, but then sessions run long and by the time you wrap up your responsibilities, you just have time to grab a bite to eat and then go to sleep.
I'm getting back to it today, though.
The good news is that I'm now on my second week with almost no soda intake. I've had one since last Monday. I don't really miss it all that much, which is a good thing.Currently Playing:

Thanks. Plus, I had my yearly physical today and he took me off one of my diabetic meds. That was great to hear. He said if I keep going, next year it will be off the other diabetic med and I've kicked diabetes out of my system.Great job, Road!

Soda, good for you on that, that will be a tough one for me to ween off. I drink the diet stuff, but still not that better of a choice with the chemicals.Last edited by roadman; 04-30-2014, 08:44 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
After watching Fork over Knives, Ive changed a lot with how I eat and getting more active. So far I stopped drinking anything and everything that had sugar in it, sticking with water and iced tea. I knew dropping soda would be big for me since I used to drink at least one 2 liter throughout an entire day, its been 3 weeks so far and havent touched it. Stopped eating pretty much all junk food(including fast food), instead eating fruit and nuts(Blue Diamond Almonds are great!), but I do still get a Snickers in every now and then, again but not like before.
I bought a boxing bag to help get myself in shape but also build some endurance back up, and have my bike that I ride before work, but not doing any weight lifting, just activities like push ups and situps, nothing that needs weight. Ive always stay somewhat active playing basketball and soccer any chance I get, probably 6+ hours a week.
I just wanted to see if I could get a few suggestions as far as what some of you guys eat for lunch and dinner, its pretty much some sort of protein like chicken or fish with vegetables since Ive tried to eat better, as well as any workouts you guys have that could help with endurance. Right now I pretty much eat:
Hummus or Fava bean dips in the morning, couple oranges
Fruit or almonds as a snack
Usually just a chicken or turkey sandwich(tomatoes, cucumber, oil)
Snack
Chicken or fish, and vegetables
3 weeks in and Ive lost 5 pounds, trying to get down to 210(right now Im 245). Plus since giving up sugary drinks and food, Ive had an easier time falling asleep as well as getting a better sleep, but I just want to keep improving.
Congratulations Scott!Comment

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
I buy a few packs of Chicken Breast Tenderloins and marinate them in Frank's Red Hot Tabasco sauce then put them on the grill. I use the tenderloins because I don't have to pound them with the tenderizer to make evenly cook. I make like 15-20 at a time and store them in zip lock bags for the next few days worth of lunch/dinner. Typically eat 5 strips per meal.
I do Frank's Barbeque or rotate a few seasonings to mix it up.Comment

If you want really tender chicken you can soak it in salt water for up to 12 hours and then grill it. Makes it really tender.
