Anyways, another issue is that she has MS (multiple sclerosis) and her parents believe that I'm causing it. The reason being is that I'm a testicular cancer survivor so I take testosterone and for some weird reason they think that somehow the testosterone is getting on her and causing her to have MS-like symptoms. This despite the fact I've quit taking testosterone months ago as we are trying to conceive.
Anyways, it doesn't really bother me that they think she can do better, so long as it doesn't affect her thinking, but it does bother me they don't support her decisions in general and may not come to the wedding. I guess she decided to write to the Dr. Phil show and actually got an email back from a producer asking her to provide an extensive background and pictures of ourselves. Shortly after providing this they called back the following day and asked us if we would agree to be on the show as they think our story is quite interesting..
I told my fiancé Stefanie I am game for a free trip to California and she is considering it as well but we're not sure if her parents would choose to be on the show or not to defend themselves. At this point it's still not been finalized but it'd have to be soon as the show stops taping in April..
Also, just a note.....I did ask her father for his approval before I proposed and he said he'd think about it, I waited nearly 6 weeks and went ahead and proposed. We've been together for four years and get along great so I'm not sure where the animosity comes from other than maybe they are just carrying the "you're not good enough for my daughter" thing a bit too far.
