You don't just say "I was on Jerry Springer," then waltz out of the thread without elaborating.

Put up a poll for us to vote on, and then decided if you should go on the show or not based on the poll.

Its a slam dunk he's going, only a fool would tell Odogg not to particpate on Dr. Phil. Almost everyone that goes on that show is heading towards years and years of marriage bliss. I am sure he'll find a connection to his wife and future family that he never knew he had.

Guys, this is the OS Road Trip that we've always talked about. We have to be there in the studio audience to support our OS brodogg, Odogg. Everybody start practicing your "boooooooooo's" for when the in-laws come out.

I think if you present a united front, you should be fine. I'm sure Dr. Phil will be on your side, so you should enjoy watching him grill your soon-to-be in-laws.

You have to work OS into the show if you go.
Nice post, DJ....in my view, the bolded part is absolutely essential, and will prevent the wedge between you and your fiancee' from happening.

                        Here's the potential 'good':

--In-laws will be forced into outing their REAL feelings about this relationship and ODogg, and they'll have to face them.

--In-laws will also be forced to confront their real feelings about their daughter's MS because blaming it on you is ignorant and just sounds like denial to me. They really need to take this bull by the horns and deal with it.

--It's your chance in a moderated public forum to not necessarily castigate your in-laws, but make your own case why you'd be a great husband to their daughter, that you won't bail on her if/when the MS gets difficult (I bet that's a deep down concern of theirs), and then put the ball in their court with Phil's 'help' to see things from you and your fiancee's perspective.

--As has been said...this should make for some really entertaining **** for the rest of us

                        The potential 'bad':

--Airing all of this on national tv surrenders a lot of privacy. Be prepared for that. But this isn't like being on a show that EVERYONE watches, either. The measure of 'hey, I saw you on TV!' stuff will probably be manageable, but you never know. You might expect a call from Androgel, though

--None of us here know the in-laws and how they tick as well as you and your fiancee' do. Without knowing them, this could serve as quite a powder keg that even with the best of intentions and execution could **** things up irreparably for the family. They have their convictions, right or wrong, and getting dog-piled by Phil and the audience members just won't end well if they are inflexible.

--There is always a possibility of an all-out family fight and they might just storm out after 15 minutes, fiancee' and mother-in-law in tears, etc.

Having said all that, I think it's an interesting opportunity but if I felt strongly that if the in-laws just won't bend with the breeze you might do more harm than good to the daughter/parents relationship (especially with the coping/not coping with the MS factor added in).

Good luck! Just go in with your eyes open.

All I'm going to say in regards to this is just to consider the fact. We here on OS tell it how we think it should be but Dr. Phil? He tells it like it is.
