My prom in one year (junior)
Well I will most likely go to prom in one year, preferably with a date. I need to come up with the best proposal in history in order to get a girl, and I have about ten to eleven months to do so. I decided to start the topic now so I won't forget and also so I can ressurect the thread in time, so I can reevaluate. But do yall have any good prom proposal ideas or ettiqute? Now to put this out there, if I go to afterprom I'm not "doing anything" if you know what I mean... so don't even start... but with that said yall can put your creative caps on and help a brother out here... Thanks!Tags: None -

Personally I think you should just ask. Good Morning America had a segment about all these "prom-posals" and I think that it's the dumbest thing ever. But I'm old school, so I'm sure someone else can be more creative than I am.Boston Red Sox

"Will you go to prom with me?"--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

Re: My prom in one year (junior)
Get her to go outside, then secretly set up an airplane to fly over the school with a banner asking: Will you go to prom with me? That'll certainly do the trick.
But seriously, you just have to be cool about it. Maybe bring some flowers and a box of chocolates and then ask her.Comment

Do you play any sport at all?
Because if you play baseball, give her a ball post game with a proposal written on it. That's how I asked my junior year. Automatic yes. You could do the same with a basketball, not so much football because that's way too early. And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

Re: My prom in one year (junior)
I don't have much advice for a creative way of asking, just make sure you're confident in what ever you do. It sounds cliche', but confidence really is key.
I'm not sure how creative this is, but I asked my senior prom date by filling an ordinary cardboard box up with flowers, a note, and her name written on it. I placed it in the corner of the class we shared and when class ended, I joking said to her "Hey, nice box!", she was obviously confused at first but she opened it anyway and thought it was great.Last edited by TCM; 04-15-2014, 09:27 PM.1905 1921 1922 1933 1954 2010 2012

The only time I didn't go with someone I was dating was my senior year. Sophomore year, I was dating a junior so I could go. Junior year I was dating a senior. Senior year, I took a sophomore.Boston Red Sox

Re: My prom in one year (junior)
My prom will be in a few weeks, but I'm not going. Had a girl or two lined up but then my parents said they won't pay for it and I'm not shelling out the 300 bucks for one night.
That said, if you want the best promposal, you're gonna have to beat this one

Re: My prom in one year (junior)
I didn't even know creative prom proposals were a thing until I was substitute teaching. I called my friend and asked her to go to prom with me. Didn't think twice about something special.
Then again, it wasn't a big thing in social networking to be on top in some creative way either.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: My prom in one year (junior)
My sophomore year, an older girl asked me to prom, but I panicked because I wasn't sure my family would pay for a tux so I told her I thought I might have a basketball tournament that weekend.
Don't worry though, I made up for it by hanging out with her at her house that summer. We were having a nice time to ourselves, watching The Wizard of Oz, before she learned she had to go pick up her little sister at around 11 that evening. So we left, picked her up, then came back to her house. Things shaping up quite nicely.
For some reason, I open their house door first, and the first thing I see is their father squatting in front of an open refrigerator, in nothing but a pair of off-white briefs. He looks up, like a deer in headlights, and I feel myself move my right hand upward to shield my eyes, unable to speak, instead muttering out guttural sounds like, "Ugherrgh" and "Eygeoguluh". The father did not appreciate this. I was ejected from the premises.
In the long run, that led to us going to the Snowcoming Dance together the following year (me and the girl, not me and the dad). In the end, it all worked out exactly like I planned.
So yeah, that's my advice.Comment

Re: My prom in one year (junior)
I never had to stress about it too much. Some girl would inevitably always take pity on me and ask me to go.
In all seriousness, both times I went I went with friends and we decided pretty much mutually that we'd go together. My junior year it was kind of half-hearted as I wasn't that good of friends with her and I was supposed to go with someone else, but that fell through. However, my senior year, I went with one of my good friends and it was pretty chill. I just said, "Hey, do you want to go to prom together," and so we did... We had a pretty solid time together (even though I was trying to get the attention of another chick at the time, but that's a story for another day.). Now, just don't be a jerk like I was my junior year. I pretty much ignored my date. Felt bad for a while after that.MLB: Minnesota Twins

Re: My prom in one year (junior)
I went my junior year and asked her over AIM (AOL Instant Messenger for you youngsters).
Senior year I skipped it and went to a music festival instead.
If she wants to go she will say yes if you just ask her normally to go. Elaborate stuff should probably be saved for couples with a history and they pretty much knew they would be going together already. I wouldn't do anything to someone who doesn't see it coming.Last edited by SuperBowlNachos; 04-15-2014, 11:56 PM.Comment
