    Re: Ebola

You should have dug a little deeper into the CDC's warning on spread....

    Link...

    Quote bolded...and contention italicized.

Can Ebola spread by coughing? By sneezing?

Unlike respiratory illnesses like measles or chickenpox, which can be transmitted by virus particles that remain suspended in the air after an infected person coughs or sneezes, Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with body fluids of a person who has symptoms of Ebola disease. Although coughing and sneezing are not common symptoms of Ebola, if a symptomatic patient with Ebola coughs or sneezes on someone, and saliva or mucus come into contact with that person’s eyes, nose or mouth, these fluids may transmit the disease.

So it MAY be spread coughing or sneezing it seems.

Just trying to keep the facts straight.....you can understand that, right?

Why egg him on? He's already tapped out and requested you contact him through pm if you want to discuss further.

Bobhead, for what it's worth, I follow your thought process and agree. Just gonna leave it at that so more feathers aren't ruffled.

Assumptions and connotations aren't a secret. We know they exist. If I call the police and say someone has a gun pointed at me, then they show up and see a Nerf water gun pointed at my leg, I think there are going to be a few problems.

Did I lie to the police? No, but it's clear that different phrases and statements incite different thoughts and interpretations.

So before a person brings his rap demo CD into the airport and tells people he is about to blow up, he might want to stop and think about how other people will interpret his statements. We're all adults here. Take responsibility for what you say.

I'm not egging.....but if you're going to call out people for "running with things" and not "fact checking" and "taking responsibility for what you say".....I'd say it's warranted.
He quoted one page of the CDC text and either did not go any further in reading it or missed what I linked. It directly contradicts what he posted and IMO sheds some serious doubt as to what he posted.

If we do want straight facts.....I think my previous post is rather prudent.

Right, but you didn't have to ask for him to respond again. That's egging in my book. That's why I only quoted your question towards him.

Where I asked him if he could understand that I just wanted the facts to be straight.

I'm not sure how that's egging on....but whatever.

FWIW....I actually don't have a problem with the things relating to the virus.
                    So much is unknown.

But the call to stop "fear mongering" was what I took issue with.

But then there was an incorrect statement(according to the CDC...I have no idea for sure and it looks like neither do they) was posted....and I just wanted to point out that there was contrary information on it.

But perhaps when I'm concerned about something that I know I may have to deal with .......and then I'm called "ridiculous" about it....I should do some egging.

Writers are responsible for giving clear cut headlines first and foremost. Unfortunately, we have a great many boobs who are posing as journalists when they should be bloggers at best.

If I as the writer put out a headline: "Scientists now say you can never look into the sun too long!" Are you gonna stare into the sun or not??

This Ebola virus is very interesting. You see a lot of news outlets and even the CDC said it can't travel through air etc. you have to come into contact with them and now the CDC has recently changed their mind. I wonder what happened. Ebola isn't a new virus.

Actually, writers don't make the headlines. There's a headline editor who handles those chores based on the general outline of the article.

Spanish Nurse has Suspected Ebola Infection

MADRID — In what is the first reported incident of Ebola transmission outside Africa, a Spanish nurse who treated a missionary for the disease at a Madrid hospital tested positive for the disease, Spain's health minister said Monday.

The female nurse was part of the medical team that treated a 69-year-old Spanish priest who died in a hospital last month after being flown back from Sierra Leone, where he was posted, Health Minister Ana Mato said.
