    Hey Bob,

Any reason why you aren't a fan of Philly sports in NFL/NHL?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I couldn't tell you. Everyone in my family were Steelers/Penguins fans. I just decided to find my own teams when I was a kid but Philly never crossed my mind.

I grew up hating Steelers/Penguins fans. They've apparently never lost a game in my 25 years of life.. the refs have given the games to the other team.

In terms of your post Tae (didn't want to quote. So sue me. )-

I'd agree with talking to the coach. See how he wants it handled. Definitely consider the competitiveness of your league, but, more importantly, consider how competitive your team is. When I was an assistant coach (keep in mind that this was for 4th-8th grade girls at a small Christian school) we were not too terribly talented. We won 2 games between both teams all season. However, one thing we did do is making sure everyone played at least a bit because a) we had a fairly small team and b) we were basically teaching them about the game of basketball (most of them had played before, but there were a few that had not) and we wanted to get them playing so that we would be able to develop that talent down the road. Now, chances are, the team you're with is a lot more skilled/experienced than the one I coached, in which case, I'd say that it might not be a bad thing for the "stars" to play a bit more, but it all depends on the competitiveness within the team and your league and what you are trying to do as a coaching staff. Run your concerns by the coach and see what he thinks is best. I feel as though that's the best course of action.

I basically ended up the reverse. My family (mainly my dad and brother) are Vikings fans... so, of course, I ended up being a Eagles fan.

When I was younger I went against my dad's teams. He was a Cardinals, Cowboys, and Razorbacks fan (didn't really follow basketball but he'd use the Jazz a lot when we played video games) so I never really followed those. Ended up watching the Blue Jays, the NY Jets, and college football I never really had a team until I got older and all my friends were Mississippi State fans or went there.

Once I got to middle school, I started watching his teams more. Still hate the Cardinals but I follow the Cowboys (that makes more sense now) and Razorbacks at least. Basketball I started off with Portland in the 90's, but once Memphis got a team I started following them. And hockey, I just watch occasionally and have been fortunate to live where good teams are on (Pittsburgh I could follow when I lived in northeast Ohio; Philadelphia and Washington when I lived in Delaware; Chicago, St. Louis, and Minnesota here), so never really had a team in hockey.

My aunt, two uncles, and one of my cousins are Flyers fans. That's the only common team I share with any family member. The rest are Steelers/Phillies/Penn State with a few Eagles fans mixed in.

                    Dogs...

I know quite a few O.S. members have them.
I've got three...but one in particular is ....ummm....unique.

                    She's a Border Collie-Bernese Mountain dog mix....
95 pounds....not a hint of fat on her. Very tall and lean.

Since she's a pup...we tried to give her full reign over her "domain".(we might have erred here a little :o)...
She just keeps adding to her list of conquests....

Her first was a neighbors potted tree. She was 3 months old and dragged the entire thing from who knows where.....tree....pot and all. It probably took her hours to drag it back here. I looked out the window and was like..."WTF?"...

                    Since then...
                    -Squirrel(she left me a little....how sweet)
-Deer(it was probably sick or shot.....I opened the door...she took off and came back 1/2 hour later with part of the leg.....she DIDN'T want to share that!)
                    -Chipmunk(IT LIVED!)
-Frog(It also lived...she had it trapped under her paw and was barking at it!)
-Bear(half credit....her and my three others treed it....thankfully a black bear or we'd be talking about them in past tense!)
-Hawk(her most impressive catch.....she was just sitting on my steps looking in the trees....I didn't even pay attention while I was washing my car until I hear this huge flutter from the tree....the hawk came down for a chipmunk or mouse....Nickie bounded from the stoop and nailed it! Holy crap what a commotion....I went and grabbed some gloves and forced her to let it go....damn those talons are strong.....almost through the glove!...that thing stared at us for hours)
-and just recently....copperhead. Scared the mf'er out of me when I went to see what she was barking at......she bit the crap out of it and it didn't die....I had to take a shovel to it. (sorry)

                    Psycho.

My dog once brought home a dead worm. She found it outside while going to the bathroom (it had just rained) and brought it inside and dropped it in the living room. She once also caught a baby bird that was stuck in our yard but was just carrying it around in her mouth. At first my mom and I thought she'd brought her squeaky ball outside with her until my mom realized it was a bird.

I feel like I've already told both of those stories.

When the Newf I had growing up was a puppy he would sometimes squeeze under the fence of his pen and roam the neighborhood raiding recycling bins during the night. We'd find plastic bottles and jugs in the backyard the next morning.

Haha....nearly choked on a throat lozenge!

                                Badass?....IDK....she's nuts that's for sure.
Funny thing is....she's the biggest baby as well.
We do call her the Beast though(Sandlot!)

I just shake my head at her antics.....
Thankfully she hasn't tried to score a skunk or porky.(ugghh...just thinking of it with her hair)
I tried to put up fencing to keep her from chasing something too far....but she laughs at it.

I now have her long leads and brought her for both obedience and agility training(she was jumping the fence anyway).
                                Honestly.....she's much better.

The difference between her and my first dog Smokey is night and day.
                                Amazing.

I had just seen a Timber Rattler down by the lake and it made me think of her nuttiness.....and glad she wasn't with me.
