 Re: Off Topic 2015

Depending on the sort of tea/juice/lemonade you're drinking, the only thing you may actually be getting away from is carbonation. Those can be just as bad.[NYK|DAL|VT]

Agreed. Sometimes things like Orange/Apple/Grape juice can have loads of sugar. Ice Tea is easier to manage when you can make it yourself.Comment

Yea the tea is bad, just looked 29g of sugar. And the lemonade is the packets you put into water bottles so that's not bad at all. And the juice is hit and miss.Comment

Traded in my Droid DNA and upgraded to a Droid Turbo the other day and one thing the Turbo does that the DNA didn't is list the actual city neighborhood I'm in as my location (DNA would just say Pittsburgh). Re: Off Topic 2015

I drink 80% straight Water now a days, if I crave some flavor I'll throw in a packet of Crystal light (Raspberry Lemonade, or Pink Lemonade) but only rarely. Every now and then when I feel like a carbonated drink I'll buy a case of Coke Zeros, or some Diet Soda.

I think in moderation there's nothing wrong with having a full calorie soda every once in a while, but the problem is a lot of people don't do moderation and do like 3 cans or a whole 2 Liter a day; and that's when all those extra sugar calories add up and it gets unhealthy.Minnesota Vikings

 Re: Off Topic 2015

I haven't had anything but water or coffee to drink in 5+ years now.
 No regrets at all.
I will have milk with cereal or oatmeal and half and half in my coffee as well.
But when I pour myself a glass of something to actually drink....it's water.

People go crazy with the whole counting calories thing, though. Yeah soda is all empty calories, but people drinking a couple a day really won't notice a difference.

What bugs me is people who think eating just 1-2 meals a day, with like 6-8 hours of fasting in between, equals smart eating and a "diet" that should equal weight loss. I know so many people who are overweight who do that and they think they have to do that otherwise they will gain weight. Better off eating 4-5 small meals than making yourself miserable by starving yourself and inadvertently forcing your body to hold on to that excess body weight.Comment

I almost can't get through the day without a little bit of caffeine and I can't stand tea or coffee, so pop is always my go-to. Usually I limit myself to one a day. Lately, I've been pretty good about avoiding it though. I think I've only had it twice over this past week.MLB: Minnesota Twins

 Re: Off Topic 2015

You caffeine hounds ever try crystal light energy mixes? (or generic brands)

Here's what I do: buy a 2 liter of sparkling water, or a 12 pack of cans, doesn't really matter, combine the sparkling water with the crystal light mix and voila, your own carbonated caffeine fix.

 Blueberry Acai is my favorite

 Re: Off Topic 2015

Stopped cold turkey and didn't have any for over a year my first year of college. Eventually started drinking them again, but on average it's now 1 a month. Mainly due to the carbonation just making me burp, but also as a cheap college kid the $1.75-$2.25 at restaurants it costs really adds up over the course of a year. Now I only drink them on long drives and if I go to a movie, both to help me stay awake.Comment
