Ok so skip the Hub then if you hate heights. Also if you like Italian food go to the North End, some great Italian places there. Also I don't know if it's open yet but you could try Wahlburgers near Fenway. I went one in Lynnfield and the food was pretty good. Here's some places to try as well. https://www.thrillist.com/eat/boston...before-you-die

For some neighborhoods to avoid in Boston Roxbury comes to mind. My buddy said for the most part it's fine, I don't go in that often.

I already have all the cannoli places mapped out, lol.

How's driving in downtown? We'll be driving everywhere. Bear in mind I'm coming from Los Angeles so traffic is the worst in the country. I figure parking is a bit ridiculous (and expensive) but as long as it's not too difficult to drive around with one way streets and **** then whatever.

LOL. The only times I remember driving into were when I went to Fenway and it was alright some one-ways but don't remember that many. Beantown or others would know better, though.

Cannolis/desserts you have to try Mike's Pastry in the north end. It's a tad overrated but if you're not from around here it's a staple to try.

I'd skip Whalburgers, personally. Also overrated.

If you just want to grab a beer and go "historical," Cheers is obviously a must-stop in. Food isn't the best.

I submitted my leave request to come home for two weeks in January. I did something similar last stannd down period so It should be approved. I haven't been home since January of this year and I really do miss it.

I've only talked to my best friend of 20+ years back home. If It gets approved I may just surprise my family...I've always wanted to do something like that. My friend has agreed to pick me up from the airport all ready. I wish he could bring one of my vehicles, but getting the keys would be tricky.

Coming home is nice, but it is about 24 hours worth of flying and layovers, but it will be my 4th time flying to or from Japan so I've adjusted well.

Tablet messed up and almost got a heart attack for a second lol. I thought the volume was off(which it was), but for some reason, something messed up in the tablet, so the second I opened something, loud music blasts out of nowhere!

I don't like loud noises completely out of nowhere. Same thing with going to movies. I hate when movies just have so quiet sounds and then out of nowhere louder than ever noises just like that.

Man I hate that so much lol, sometimes you can sense it coming and brace for it, but other times they sucker you into turning the volume up for quiet voice dialogue and then a propane tank explodes in your ears. I'm at the point where I'd rather read closed captions than take the quiet voices bait

lol ya. Not even scary movies where it's done on purpose to scare you/make you jump out of your seats. Just regular stuff in general where the sound is just low for something then suddenly gets so loud.

I got to point for some things where I'd rather just not hear dialogue for abit in order to not have that sudden loud moment happen.

Heh, reminds me of an electronic baseball game I had when I was a kid. I often played it with the sound off while sitting/laying in bed in the morning so as not to wake my parents. There were a few times when the game would just jam or something and it would start playing one of its sound effects in a continuous tone and I'd be desperately trying to shut it off before it woke up my parents. Think i had to take the batteries out to get it to stop.

Don't know about USA,but in Canada, they made it illegal to do that. For commercials to be louder than a certain limit(however loud the average show is)

Though it still happens at times where a show ends so quietly before break, that I turned volume up,and then commercial airs right after at a seemingly loud volume(only cause the show was so quiet)

They've tried over a decade to create restrictions. They do have them, but the issue is they'll go back and say, "Remember in your program when that gunshot was fired? That was louder than your dialogue and stuff, so we can be just as loud as that." Basically, they are using loopholes to make it around that volume.

Might be specific moments in a show that are so loud, but I'm sure there's at least like a DB limit or something on the commercials.
