Taking the GRE today. I have mixed feelings.. I don't feel like it accurately shows if you're prepared for grad school or not but my vocabulary has certainly grown while preparing. Not to mention, many schools are starting to phase the test out and it doesn't test a lot of the more important factors you need to succeed in grad school.

I have avoided the pursuit of my masters because of the GRE. I have my bachelors, over 40 post graduate credits, and 21 years in my profession; but taking the GRE scares me to death.

My wife, daughter, and I go into Starbucks yesterday afternoon for macchiatos and some Willow blend. Our barista cheerfully informs us that our drinks and coffee are on the house. We were feeling so special...until we found out about the computer glitch. I should be happy for our free stuff, but I'm sad that we weren't special after all.

If it makes you feel any better I kinda bombed it and don't feel like retaking it for a while. Gonna apply to a few post bachelor programs and maybe test the waters with a few grad courses. FYI, many schools are doing away with the GRE so you may want to look into that. What is your profession? what post grad credits have you taken?
