What are some good behind the scenes sports documentaries. The hard knocks, and the one espn showed a couple years ago that followed the Boston celtics season when they had the big 3 type instead of the 30 for 30 type.

I always recommend A Player Too Be Named Later. It follows 4 minor league baseball players through one full season of AAA ball.

Another one that was a 30 for 30 but I still liked it was Four Days in October. It followed Games 4-7 of that epic 2004 ALCS between the Red Sox and Yankees. That series still amazes me.

Went to eastern washington university today (on a long roadtrip). I took picutres on the field, met with the sports information director, and am going to try and interview some of the guys if it works out well.

I played a season of CHoops 2k8 with EWU but lost in the NIT because I didn't want to be there

Thankfully it was just smoke from pyro test for PanAm games tomorrow. Cause I'm sure people think the worst once seeing the CN Tower smoking up there like that looking like something might have exploded inside.

Stupid Pan Am games. Cost U of T their best open field (now the field hockey astroturf) and closes more roads that I drive on than I'd like.

EDIT: We should have an OS Canada/Toronto thread, lol.

Been contemplating it myself.

Base cost where I'm going is $2200 an eye so $4500 give or take. I'm actually getting a 20%discount for having AAA insurance which is amazing. Putting 1000 down so I'll have relatively small payments and have it paid off in a year.

PanAm Games proving why Toronto won't ever get Olympics. Look how much chaos it's causing now, and how unprepared the city is for anything cause the city sucks at planning anything. Makes you respect how much a city like Vancouver had alot of it together for their winter olympics when you see all the controversy surrounding Brazil and the world cup(2014)/olympics(which will happen next year) and how Russia at 2014 olympics was so unprepared too(nobody will ever forget those bathrooms).

Though that reflects the teams sports situation too, horrible planning, bad execution, just makes them look bad a times cause of backlash.

But still looking forward to seeing what they put out for opening ceremony tomorrow, hopefully it's nothing cheesy/stupid.

I work at U of T and on my way home I saw the what I think was the Chilean women's field hockey team coming out of the quarantine zone that used to be the field behind University College. They were all hot as hell. Like, I was stopped in my tracks. I did my best not to stare. I'm not usually one to comment on these things, but, yeah. It was an impressive group.

I thought Happy Valley was good, but I'm also biased on that one, and it's not really sports-centric if that's what you're looking for.

Schooled is another good one, if you're interested in that kind of thing.

So it's not really a dating site question but this Sunday I'm supposed to have a "blind" date with my friends girlfriends friend. I say "blind" because I seen her already but unsure if her friend showed her a picture of me.

I'm not going alone, it's a guess a double date since my friend and his girl are going as well (Which makes things less awkward) however I am nervous. She is actually pretty cute and she is a nerd like me. Lol.

I just have no idea what to do when we meet or where we are going (I think it may be bowling). Any suggestions? I'm not very experienced in the dating scene.

If I was you...

Don't play games (meaning the stupid back-and-forth nonsense guys/girls can do) and most importantly be yourself and have fun. You'll present a more attractive "offering" if you show you can have fun and be positive.

Your friend's girlfriend definitely showed her a picture of you or she wouldn't have agreed to go, which is good because it means you anyway know she's already at least attracted to you.

As far as what to do - there are a million answers here... personally, I like to invite her to grab a drink or two. Don't get hammered or anything, but a few drinks can really diffuse the awkwardness from meeting someone new and help facilitate conversation.

You can't really go wrong here as long as it's a situation where you can talk to her. Some other suggestions are:

Go to the zoo/aquarium/safari/etc.

Go to a community event. Obviously this depends on timing and where you live - a lot of communities have free outdoor concerts, plays and things in the summer. In Omaha, we have Movies on the Green (outdoor movie in the park), Jazz on the Green, and Shakespeare on the Green, every week on different days of the week through the summer.

Go to a baseball game.

Grab some ice cream or something and walk through the park/neighborgood. It's nice out.
