It's great when MLB.tv doesn't recognize your zip code so you have no black outs. One step closer to cutting satellite next year as I have 6 teams blacked out here usually and losing 3 AL and 3 NL teams just puts a huge dent in the nightly schedule.

Yup. I had a phone interview with them and my aunt and uncle are close with one of the higher-ups in HR there (how I got the interview) and I never, not once have heard anything like what's described in these propaganda pieces.

I'm sure they work you hard. It's Amazon.

I worked for another large retail company and my experience was very similar. Usually it's the higher-ups/senior management/HR that aren't as privy to the daily BS but the supervisor level is where it's the worst. I could spend an hour listing off the creative ways I saw people stabbed without them seeing the knife coming.

As mentioned in the article, though, the challenge can be addicting. I got a lot of responsibility dumped on me, paired with a lot of flexibility to manage it how I wanted though I had very little experience going in. They sell you on leadership, development, growth, opportunity, etc and you do get it, but at a price.

But the bottom line is that the challenge came down to trying to balance doing the right thing and hitting the production goals. I often saw integrity compromised in the name of hitting the numbers. Because none of that ish that they sell you on as an employee sells in the store or directly impacts the bottom line.

Keeping an eye on Hurricane Danny. Still far out, but now a Cat 2 and cruising along on a WNW path. We haven't had a landfall where I'm in Florida for 10-11 years or so. Nothing since Jeanne and Frances.

I wouldn't worry too much about it...by the time it gets close to PR, it is supposed to go through some major wind shear and significantly reduce in intensity.

I remember the Steelers playing the Dolphins in Miami right after Jeanne hit. Was Roethlisberger's 1st career start. Those 2 teams seem to have a habit of playing in atrocious weather/field conditions (see the 2007 Monday night game at Heinz Field).
