The extra charges tourists pay do suck,but if you know what you're doing,you can avoid being ripped off.
Like how some places charge up to $20 or so for parking cause they're right by a tourist attraction. I parked a block away from that,for free. It was an extra few min walk,but thats it to save $20. Restaurants are the worst though. Some places dont show menu prices online,so they trick you into thinking some major place is same price as by your home,but it was almost double that! Learned that the hard way,but at least i did learn from that. Take the extra 5 min drive,dont get scammed by tourist restaurants and save like $10-15 per person to eat at same restaurant in diff location.
