Re: My cat might not make it through the night...
Sorry for your loss man, I know how you feel. Just a month ago we had to put down one of our cats, she was only 7 years old.
She has always been healthy and then right around the holidays she started not eating and losing weight. To make a long story short after a couple months and trying different things to help her, we had to take her to the Vet. Come to find out she had liver failure and there was nothing they could do. So I right away said to the Vet to put her down.
My wife and I and our 7 year old son were pretty heart broken about it, but we did what was best for her. My wife wanted her ashes so they are here with us. We have another cat, so that's helped having her around.
So I know how you feel suddenly losing a pet. It sucks but we go on and get new pets, not to replace the ones that are gone, but because we love their company.Comment

Re: My cat might not make it through the night...
So my vet just called to let me know my cat's ashes are ready (on Easter. Yeah. Guess he's working).
Something about my cat's case really intrigued him. He decided to send out a lung tissue sample to a university pathologist colleague of his and come to find out our cat died of the lung disease COPD.
There was nothing we could have ever done to have saved her.
What still mystifies my vet is how during our first visit he was able to get her healthy enough to come home and act normal for a few weeks. He really isn't sure how that was possible but he did use the word miracle. LOL!
Anyway, just wanted to close the book on this for everyone. I miss her a lot but the support I got here really helped.
Thanks everyone and happy Easter.Comment
