I watch a ton of Cowboys games, (watched more Cowboys games than Niners last year since I don't have DirecTV anymore) follow the team, know the history, listen to Dallas sports talk, defending Romo to Cowboys fans for years, other than actually rooting for them and wearing their gear, I am probably a Cowboys fan.

I am born and raised in Texas and am a fan of Texas teams other than the NFL. This change isn't because the Niners are in the position they are in now, this change is something I've battled with for a while. It's not like I am jumping on the ship of a defending Super Bowl champion here. I've been a Niners fan for 20+ years, but I don't hate the Cowboys. I haven't had that type of feeling since I was like 14/15, I am 35 now. It's weird to even consider and I don't even know how I would make the transition. Everyone knows me knows I am a Niners fan. I am so confused and conflicted! Would be very weird, but I think this is the year. To be honest, this change should have happened many moons ago.
I'm actually considering this myself (except not the Cowboys [gross] and not football). Given the fact that the Bulls fired Thibodeau last year, hired a coach from literally the worst entity on the face of the earth (the other "university" in Iowa) and essentially seem to be doing everything they can to ruin any chance they ever had at making a run at the King's throne atop the Eastern Conference, I have been increasingly finding myself being rather disinterested.

With this in mind, this off-season, Thibs went to a place that I'm very familiar with: Minnesota. They've always been my Western Conference team, if you will, and I'm already a fan of Minnesota sports minus the Vikings. I love the players they have, especially LaVine, Wiggins and Rubio. But... it still feels weird to just jump ship. If I was ten, sure, but as an adult, that feels weird to me.

There's no real question or point to this post... I just wanted to ramble.

I know the feeling of changing your favorite team and everybody notices. When I was first following the MLB I chose the Braves as my team and followed them for a few years and then I started losing interest, and then last year when the Blue Jays were actually good the sports media was ridiculous here and I started following them and into this year my interest has started rising again.

On tapatalk it doesn't show that post after Jare's that was deleted. I had to go to browser view and noticed.

It can be done! Maybe it's a bit easier than I am switching to a home town team, which should have been the team I chose when I was a child anyway. It's been a fun ride, Niners, but all things must come to an end. I'll always love you, but it's not working out. They say you're usually happier in the second marriage anyway, right?

That is friggin nuts and so sad. Apparently there were signs up every where. Either way, I can't imagine seeing a 2 year old get grabbed by a gator and nothing you can do, especially if it was my child.

Yea it's heartbreaking, I've no clue as to how a two yo child is wandering near the edge of the water and not within arms reach of a watchful & mindful parent.

As a parent of two and a third due in Dec it saddens and angers me at the same time.

Agreed. There were signs saying to stay out of the water. A two year old in what is being reported as a foot of water, left unattended is just pure neglect on the parents part.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

It's a lagoon that is attached to a series of canals that feed to larger bodies of water, impossible to keep them out.

In addition, Disney has a wildlife staff on site that works with FWC to catch and remove the larger gators whenever they are spotted in the area. They try to rid the area of gators as much as they can, but that's just not possible with, like you described, how the lagoon is configured.

A terrible, unfortunate situation and I can totally believe/understand that a tourist from Nebraska may have a false sense of security being on such a controlled environment/property like Disney and may not consider the risks of being in the water, especially with Magic Kingdom and the other hotels right in your periphery.

After the past four/five days, I think Orlando could definitely say it's having its worst week ever.
