That is crazy if it truly was a coincidence.

But if not it could take 7-10 days for a resolution. I think I will have to call corporate again tomorrow if this isn't resolved. I've heard from multiple people who this has happened to say they got their money back almost right away.

This is putting us in a very bad position.

Me personally, I would be taking my business elsewhere. What bank is this, if you don't mind me asking? I have this happen to me with Navy Federal and they took care of it immediately.

Yup. Even Bank of America took care of a situation like this in an immediate fashion for me.

I worked in the financial industry for over 4 years after I got out of my defense contract work. And Navy Federal is one of the best banks out there. Fantastic bank actually. I used to be a Financial Advisor, getting people out of their sticky situations with predatory loans and the like, and Navy Federal was always the best to work with.

Number one bank to avoid, regardless if some will say they never had issues, Bank of America. While one moment they may work with people, there were endless horror stories of them not. It is very subjective an case by case with them. They are not even 'American owned', yet they have the fancy name. They are not allowed in Mississippi due to them not being an American owned bank, and passing off as such.

The bank I dropped like a bad habit was TD Bank that did the same thing to me that is being done to him. They are a Canadian owned bank, leveraging the maximum they an get away with with the laws here.

Chase, while large, does have a more customer friendly policy with fraud compared to most.

SunTrust is also a good bank with very good customer practices for a semi large bank in the southeast region.

A good Credit Union would be better as well.

It just comes down for some less desirable banks taking advantage of the 'free opportunity' to gamble on the market with your 'tied up' funds. And when you hear '7-10 days', always bet on the maximum of 10 days. They will take advantage of what the maximum the law allows.

Screw any mega bank. I've been with a local bank for a few years now (my dad's been with them for 30 now), and have had no issues. I was with TD Bank before and they're awful.

I did have a couple fraudulent charges hit once, but I was never denied access to my money and the matter was handled in a day or two.

I bank with PNC. I used to bank with a local bank but my account somehow got screwed up and tied to someone else's account. Sometimes when they would deposit or withdrawal money it would be applied to my account. After that, I left and moved to PNC. Sad because I was with that bank since I first started banking, but something like that happening was scary and frustrating all at the same time.

I bank with Navy Fed and Redstone Fed, both of which are credit unions. I will never bank with anyone in there than credit unions again.

Huntington Bank. I believe its just a regional bank in the Ohio and PA area.

I finally got my money back today. But there is a new issue. My wife gets paid tomorrow and has direct deposit, but she requested a paper check this pay in case this issues wasn't resolved in time. Problem is, she was supposed to get the paper check in the mail by today and it didn't come. So now I am worried she won't get the check tomorrow. This would be very bad.

Yeah, I've been with PNC since I opened my 1st account when I started college and they've been pretty good with just a few minor annoyances. Namely they would sometimes charge feels with names like "service charge type J" or something and there would seemingly be no way to find out what it meant on the website (1 of them was for my savings account balance going below $1000). Also, and I don't know what standard practice is, the fee to cancel a check is kind of ridiculous. I once had to cancel a $250 or so check that got lost in the mail and the fee was like $32. I also recently found out that there is a $3 fee for viewing signed deposit slips deposited into your account on their online banking website. So, yeah, bank fees are gear grinding.

Fortunately, they have a branch about a mile from my apartment here in Tallahassee, so I did not have to switch banks when I moved from North Carolina.
