I was in the process of making a call at work today when a co-worker passed by and farted. I had to hang up the phone because I was laughing hysterically.

That's right, I'm 38 years old but yet too immature to not laugh at a fart sound or fart joke.

I'm a high school teacher, and teach on a SMART Board (basically a touchscreen projector screen), so it projects my desktop computer as I'm giving lecture notes. I have G-mail notifications enabled, so every so often students will see a pop-up in the bottom right corner with a title and header, etc.

Anyway, earlier today as I was teaching, an e-mail notification popped up from somebody named "Jimmey" titled with an eight, four equal signs, and a capital d. I was perhaps the last person to see it, before I quickly rushed to close the notification.

However, I couldn't help but burst out laughing because of the student laughter and the comments they were making.

"Who's Jimmey, Mr. Robinson?"
"Open it!"
"[*sigh*] On the school servers, Mr. Robinson???"
"Don't let us in on your private life!!"
"You should reply to that." "Looks like that e-mail was a reply."

They're immature, but it was laugh-out-loud hilarious. Couldn't stop for a while because it turned from a serious math lecture into raunchy comedy. I'm convinced it was a student in the class, but I had every bit of trouble tracing who it was. One of those "As the son of a ***** wheeled away..." kind of moments, haha.

It's just one of those things that you let slide once, I guess. Would have been funnier if it was real spam, because I still feel the majority of the class thinks it was some random online person sending that to me.

The worst part was my lecture was on exponential growth and decay. They would not let the euphemisms lay to rest!

I got sucked into FXX's Simpsons marathon last night after the basketball games. They were from season 12 so a little past the "prime," but still great. I think I was in middle school when these came out so I had forgotten about some of those great moments.

As I've said a bunch over the last few months, I'm trying to GTFO of my area and move to a city...preferably Baltimore, but at this point I'm open to pretty much everywhere. However, my current lease isn't up until 7/31/17, and my landlord won't give me permission to sublet, so I can't really do much at the present time, which leads me to my question.

When would be a good time to start putting in applications? I'd like to do it now, but obviously I wouldn't be available for another 8 months. Ideally, I'd like to 1) set it up so I'd be available to employers within a decent time frame and 2) give myself enough time, if hired, to figure out all the **** I need to in order to make the move as seamless and successful as I can.

Talk about cruel and unusual punishment!

The Canadian town of Kensington has hit upon a genius plan to detract its residents from drinking and driving this holiday season.
Not only will the cops charge you, they'll also blast Nickelback while they haul you to jail.
The Kensington Police Service laid down the law in a Facebook post over the weekend for those "dumb enough to feel they can drink and drive."

"When we catch you, and we will catch you," the department added, "on top of a hefty fine, a criminal charge and a years driving suspension we will also provide you with a bonus gift of playing the offices copy of Nickelback in the cruiser on the way to jail."

Constable Robb Hartlen told CNN the department doesn't actually hate the band - Canada's most questionable gift to the world.

"We are just using a different approach to get an age-old message communicated," he said. "As long as it starts the 'Don't drink and drive' dialogue, we're happy with that."
The department said it hasn't had to unleash Chad Kroeger and the boys on anyone yet. And it hopes it stays that way.

"So please, lets not ruin a perfectly good unopened copy of Nickelback," it said in its post. "You don't drink and drive and we won't make you listen to it."
