Sorry haha the V/H/S are found footage films in away. People will literally stumble upon a set of tapes and play them back-to-back where strange things occur, normally of the paranormal or demonic variety.

V/H/S: Viral is the third film in the horror series (and easily the worst), and one of the tapes on there is called "Parallel Monsters."

I cannot find a clip of it, but the films are pretty disturbing and beyond weird. Basically a guy stumbles upon an interdimensional portal in his house (or creates it, I actually forget) and on the other side is a mirrored world of his, where he meets another version of himself. They trade places for a little bit, and that's where things just go totally wrong for the freaky and weird, specifically when wanting to tend to the alternate wife.

EDIT: Found something. It's from 22:50 to 39:30. I have to warn you though that there are a couple of graphic and disturbing moments (a bit on the sci-fi scale though). It's fitted onto a smaller frame on YouTube to avoid copyright strikes.

Just goes to show not to really tamper with other dimensions, heh.

Gotcha. I have brief impressions on all three of them.

As for other universes and planets with life and such, I just naturally assume that we are more primitive than lots of others which would be advanced enough to have the technology or what have you to know that we exist and approach us by now. I don't really know, it's all too strange.

On another note, I started watching the film Sunshine yesterday, and they pointed out that it takes eight minutes for the sun's light to reach earth. So if the sun goes out, we would get the after-effect here eight minutes later. That is just so very strange to think about.

On a similar note when we find new Stars and Galaxy's that are millions of light years away we are seeing that far into the past. We have no idea if they are still around now and never will. It's crazy to think about. Space time is a trip.

This is true. However if we are going back to the millions of light year range most of that would probably still exist. If we go back to the stuff we can see around 13 billion light years, then there are probably some things that look a lot different or aren't there anymore.

I definitely think there are many more advanced civilizations out there than ours, and some may know of us and some may have even visited us depending on what you believe, but I also think the universe is filled with more less advanced life than highly advanced life.

This could be a big reason why we officially haven't made contact. I also think it's a possibility that there are civilizations out there that decided it would be a waste of time and effort to even bother with any sort of space program.

Another thing we need to remember is most Earth-like planets from what we have seen and can assume, are a little bigger than our planet which would most likely cause their gravity to be heavier than ours which would make it a lot harder to escape their own gravity.

That's definitely my thought as well. I'm just guessing some of them have to be more advanced than us though.

I wonder if like Star Wars is/was a real thing somewhere lol.

I would say no...at least not anywhere near our galaxy. And even then it probably would have to be in the very very distant past. I guess what i am saying is if there has been anything like it, it would need to have been a long time ago in a galaxy far away.

Really agree with this. We always think of life as something similar to humans, but that’s so many stages down the road from how this may have all began. I’m sure there’s “life” in those oceans on Saturn or wherever they are. It’s just ... microscopic. Or adapted to its environment in such a way that we’d never consider it our equal.

But that may very well be the beginning for them. The next evolution may be right under our noses and we don’t bother with it because it’s not where we want it to be to stay interested in it.

I think you hit it on the head there. Everything i've read, seen and heard suggests that humanity is pretty much a cosmic accident at worst or the most perfect series of events ever at best. I have a feeling there are more worlds with life that are either microbial or on the level of the animal kingdom here.

There should be advanced life out there as well but I don't think it's as much as we once thought.

One thing that's interesting is that we are now finding evidence that life may have started here a lot sooner than we thought. Possibly not very long after the Earth formed. If that's the case then you should be able to apply that to other similar planets.

And with all the organic chemicals we are finding in our own solar system this should also apply to other planets or moons. If we discover even microbial life in our own solar system that will basically blow the lid off the quest to find life because then we will know it's not anywhere near as rare as we thought. It should mean that the universe is teeming with life.

Also, if we were using modern forum software I'd probably post in this thread multiple times a week like I do in another thread on another forum. Having to upload and embed images is arduous.
